We are in a time in which social networks have become a window for the rest of the world to know what we do or do not do. Or at least, to show what we really want. However, there are other social networks like BeReal that have opted to share images with our friends without any kind of ‘posture’ and, above all, without the photo being completely edited.
It may seem unbelievable, but there are many users who leave their skin and soul in editing an image in order to attract more attention. However, Instagram has opted for this same idea and has decided to create a function quite similar to the one found in an alternative social network known under the name of BeReal, which has become widely known in recent weeks, although It has been in existence since 2020.
Share photos without filters
The real challenge that the BeReal social network carried out at first was to share images with the rest of the people that we follow within a two-minute margin without any type of filter in between. In this way, users are not given time to edit said photograph, since, in just two minutes, it takes time to take the appropriate photo and little else.
Well, it was Alessandro Paluzzi, a well-known developer, who came across the IG Candid Challenges feature on Instagram. In the notification that appeared within the application, Meta’s social network challenged the user to add this feature to their stories. In this way, you would receive a notification to send a photo, at any time of the day and during all days of the week, in just 2 minutes to your followers.

Therefore, upon receiving such a warning or daily notification, the Instagram camera will automatically open, both the front and rear , so that we can take a picture of ourselves or whatever we want in just two minutes. And at the time of taking this image of the challenge that the social network offers us, we must bear in mind that the content that is shared will appear in the Stories .
It is in the testing phase
This tool that reminds us so much of the BeReal function, the truth is that it is still in testing. Basically, because Instagram has already confirmed that this software tool is just an ‘internal prototype’ . That is, it is ‘not being tested externally’. However, the fact that the Meta social network is testing this functionality makes it clear that it is considering, to a large extent, being able to bring this feature called IG Candid Challenges to light at some point.
Although, we also know that there are many other functions in tests that Instagram has been testing over time and that, for one reason or another, it finally decided not to launch in its app. Therefore, we can only wait and wait for the moment when it is decided to make this function public. A tool very similar to the one found in BeReal.
