Find out if You Will Receive the Android 9.0 Pie on Your Phone

With the beta version of Android 11 confirmed and with Android 10 coming to the main phones, the Android 9.0 operating system may seem outdated to you. But believe it or not, there are still many who still haven’t even received a slice of the cake. If you want to know if you will have Android 9.0 Pie on your phone, we will tell you about it in this guide.

Android Pie

Alcatel

In early 2019, Alcatel said it had nothing new to report regarding Android 9.0 Pie. We don’t expect all of their phones to have Android 9.0 Pie, in any case. Not only that: Alcatel’s history with Android updates is pretty bad, making it difficult when their phones will be upgraded to Android 9.0 Pie.

Motorola / Lenovo

Motorola released an official list of phones that would get Android 9.0 Pie. Motorola’s Android One phones, Moto One, and One Power were the first to receive Pie. The Moto G6 Plus started 2019 the right way with an update. The launch of Pie on the Moto G6 and G6 Play devices started in Brazil first, and the United States was not far behind: the G6 began receiving Pie from February 6 of that year. Starting in April, the Moto Z3 at Verizon also received the Pie. Update, which also provides 5G support for accessing Verizon’s 5G network with the Moto Mod 5G.

Motorola has kept its word when it comes to updating the Moto Z2 Force. Despite prior confirmation that the 2017 flagship would receive Pie, a post on a Motorola administrator’s forum clarified that only Verizon Moto Z2 Force units will receive the Android Pie update. Motorola has justified this for a “variety of reasons,” but has highlighted the Moto Mod 5G as the reason that only Verizon models will receive the update. In other words: If you have an unlocked AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, or Moto Z2 Force, you may want to forget about Android Pie.
