In the PC ecosystem, many of us are used to using Photoshop as an image editing tool, but when you want to go one step further, the mouse and keyboard simply fall short. For this reason there are graphics tablets , an ideal tool for designers and content creators, and in this article we are going to tell you about our experience using the new Huion Kamvas Pro range, which are postulated as one of the best options on the market. right now.

Surely the Huion brand does not sound like much to you, but you should know that they have been in the industry since 2011 creating products related to the creation of digital content, such as digitizing tablets, drawing screens, digital Stylus and, in general, products designed for designers and artists. . In addition, they have their own proprietary technology for pressure sensors in digital pens, and it is not for nothing that their name comes from the Chinese ” huì wáng” which means “The king of painting”, which of course already denotes which It’s your specialty.
Now this company is launching three new graphics tablets on the market that, as we are going to show you below, we have had the opportunity to test and we are going to tell you what our impressions are. These are the 13, 16 and 24-inch Huion Kamvas Pro , adapted for all kinds of needs and budgets.
This is how the new Huion Kamvas Pro tablets are
As we have already mentioned, there are three digital tablets that Huion is now launching on the market, with different screen sizes, resolutions and of course prices to seek to adapt to all the possible needs of digital artists.

Let’s start by talking about the two smaller models (or rather, small and medium), the Kamvas Pro 13 and 16 2.5K, two pen tablets designed to provide greater mobility and portability due to their size. The 13-inch model has dimensions of 373.5 x 229.1 x 10 mm and weighs just 1 Kg, while the 15.8-inch model measures 436.2 x 247.3 x 11. 5mm and weighs 1.28kg.
As their names suggest, we are dealing with a model with a 13-inch screen and another with “almost” 16 (they are actually 15.8), both with QHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels) that already denotes the quality of the hardware they mount. Both have the usual 16:9 widescreen format with a pixel density of 186ppi, with a 60Hz panel refresh rate.

Technically and with the exception of the size, these two tablets are identical, with the same functions and the same aesthetics. Both have the same design with rounded edges, anti-slip rubber “feet”, and integrate two USB-C connectors (one for power, since they do not have an integrated battery, while the other is for connecting them to a PC). Of course, in the 15.8-inch model there is a small bulge in the rear that raises it slightly, something that the 13-inch model lacks.

Both tablets come with the digital pen included, a stylus that has a very interesting feature and that is that it is not only valid for these Huion tablets, but is also compatible with any device compatible with Windows Ink. Of course, a base and all the cables and connectors necessary for its operation are included.

In addition to the digital pen, these graphic tablets include a support to be able to place them tilted and thus be able to work more comfortably. They have rubber inserts so that the device is not damaged when used on them while remaining fixed in place, and it also allows it to be placed at different inclinations, but also to be folded completely to store it comfortably when we are not using it.

These two models are priced at 449 Euros for the 13-inch model and 599 Euros for the 15.8-inch model, quite interesting given their technical characteristics, their size and everything they offer together such as the base or the digital pen. .

Let’s now see the top of the range model, the Huion Kamvas Pro 24 4K, whose name is already giving us a clue as to what it houses under the hood. We are facing a device with a 23.8-inch screen, nothing more and nothing less, with a 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) and a 16:9 format that houses a density of 189 points per inch to offer us excellent definition.

This digital tablet is much larger due to the size of its screen, and measures 589.2 x 364 x 22.7 mm, weighing no less than 6.3 Kg, so it is more likely to be fixed in a site, it is not as portable as the other two models. All in all, it is surprisingly manageable and you will have no problem taking it from one place to another if you want.
In addition, in this case the tablet itself incorporates supports to raise its angle of use without the need for a separate accessory. It also has a VESA mount in case you want to mount it on a standard monitor arm so you can place it wherever you want, and move it away when you’re not using it comfortably and without taking up space on the table.

In terms of connectivity, it also differs from the previous two models, and in this case we have two USB-A connectors, a USB-C connector, HDMI output and even a 3.5mm minijack for headphones.
This Huion Kamvas Pro 24 model also has, of course, its drawing pen, but in this case it also includes another additional accessory: the Mini Keydial KD100 keypad, which will allow us to automate a large number of tasks while using its large screen. As you may have seen, the two “small” models have some integrated buttons and this larger model does not, and this is the reason for incorporating the separate button panel as an accessory.

Finally, it should be noted that the three digital tablets have Etched Anti-Glare Glass technology, which consists of a protective glass that is resistant to reflections and scratches, so that you can use them in any light condition without reflections. .
The price of this top-of-the-range version is considerably higher than that of the other two products, and amounts to 1,399 Euros . It may seem like a pretty high price, but in reality we think they have adjusted it quite a bit considering its features and what it offers.
Testing the Kamvas Pro
The first impression that we are going to tell you about when using these three digital tablets is their quality… certainly, this is not a common device that we usually try on this website, but what we do tell you is that both the feeling of quality, robustness and ease has left us impressed. To begin with, they are incredibly simple products to get up and running, as you just have to connect the Kamvas Pro to a computer, download the official App (available for Windows, MacOS and Android) and they are ready to go.

This official application will allow us to configure in detail all the parameters of the device, such as the sensitivity of the pointer, the thickness of the stroke with the pencil, the pressure that must be exerted or the functions that we want to have available in the integrated buttons (models of 13 and 16-inch) or on the pendant (24-inch model).

Once configured to our liking, we can start using the device, which behaves as if it were an additional screen on the PC to which we have connected it. This means that we will be able to move around its functions with the PC mouse, and in fact we will have everything that we have on the computer… this means that we do not have to install specific things or that we have to depend on the hardware of the tablet to have a good performance . In addition, this also guarantees that we will have absolute compatibility with any editing software, and not only with Photoshop, which will be the most common.
All this has made it quite clear to us that Huion has designed its Kamvas Pro so that the artist only has to worry about their work, and that they do not have to complicate their lives with configurations or connections, which we consider a great advantage.

Thanks to the fact that the three digitizing tablets have up to 8,192 pressure levels and the pointer has a resolution of no more and no less than 5,080 lines per inch, the freedom that we will have for our creations is absolute, being able to make lines as fine as we want and , of course, with as many colors as in real life (or almost). And it is that it is not the same to be drawing with a mechanical pencil than with a pencil, pen or marker, so we can have all this in the same way as if we were drawing on a canvas in real life.
Conclusion: the best if you are a digital artist
When you are (or want to become) a digital artist, there are certainly many products that are within your reach for little money. However, you will quickly realize that they fall short and that you need something better to be able to improve both your performance and your accuracy at work, and this means that you will have to buy a better device than the one you had.
For this reason, there are times when it is (and much) worth investing in a better product from the beginning and that you know you will get much more out of it, and that is where these three Huion digital tablets come in. With quite reasonable prices from our point of view, excellent quality and performance and functionality beyond any doubt, we think that they are one of the best digital tablets that you can buy in their segment, and of course they are an investment that you will not you will regret if you are going to dedicate yourself to this, even at an amateur or professional level.

The new Kamvas Pro are capable of adapting to any drawing and coloring style you have, thanks to the great capabilities of their screens. There really are no limits, even if you are a professional who has been at this for years and is looking for the best of the best, and at an affordable price.
