Among the most economical options on the market, Huawei and Xiaomi have some mobiles to consider. They are terminals with modest technical characteristics, but that can meet the needs of many users, or become an excellent second mobile. Today we are going to buy two of the maximum exponents of the input range such as the Huawei Y6 2019 and the Xiaomi Redmi 7.
When we want to spend as little as possible on a smartphone, in case all manufacturers have an option in a range of less than 150 euros. We cannot ask these devices for great technical requirements, but they meet in all fields without highlighting in any particular.
Screen and dimensions
The Huawei Y6 2019 has a more compact screen, reaching 6.09 inches, while the Redmi 7 reaches 6.26 inches. Both terminals have an HD + resolution , but the density of pixels per inch is higher in the Huawei device with its 282 dpi compared to the 269 dpi of the Xiaomi mobile.
We see a big difference in the weight and thickness of both terminals. The featherweight is taken by the Huawei Y6 2019 with its 8 millimeters thick and 150 grams. The Redmi 7, perhaps because of its larger battery, as we will see later, weighs 180 grams and reaches 8.5 millimeters thick. Both have a fingerprint sensor in the back.
Processor and memory
Inside both devices we find two entry-level chip of bitter opponents like MediaTek and Qualcomm. The Huawei Y6 2019 integrates the Helio A22, which we have seen in other cheap mobiles such as the Nokia 2.3 or the Xiaomi Redmi 6A. The Redmi 7 for its part integrates a Snapdragon 632 , which despite being modest compared to other processors of the brand, far exceeds the Helio A22 of the Y6 2019.
The Huawei Y6 of 2019 only has 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. The Redmi 7 closest to this version is the variant of 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, which is the one that could best be compared with the Huawei mobile. The good news is that both terminals can expand their internal memory using microSD cards.
Rear cameras and selfie
Another great difference is found in the cameras, where the Huawei Y6 shows a more conservative design with its only 13 megapixel rear camera accompanied by an 8 megapixel selfie sensor. The Redmi Note 7 on the other hand has a double rear camera with 13 megapixel main sensor, but it is accompanied by a two megapixel depth sensor. Its front camera also reaches 8 megapixels.
Operating system and battery
We found the basic connections in both terminals, and at the moment both move under the baton of Android 9 Pie, camouflaged under the respective EMUI 9.1 and MIUI 11 layers . They are expected to be updated to Android 10 in the coming months.
A huge difference is found in the battery, since the Huawei Y6 2019 is left with a modest 3,020 mAh, while the Redmi 7 reaches 4,000 mAh. The autonomy is therefore on the side of the Xiaomi mobile with a difference to take into account.
Prices and conclusion
When we stop to see the prices, we verify that we can currently buy the Huawei Y6 for 110 euros. The Xiaomi Redmi 7 raises this price to 133 euros. Since only 23 euros separate us between the two devices, it is more worthwhile to get the Xiaomi device, due to key differences such as a better processor, more RAM and a much larger battery. If we believe that with the Huawei Y6 we will have enough, those 23 euros of difference will be better in our pocket.
