Huawei‘s outlook becomes increasingly dark as the days go by. At least as long as it continues to plan to depend on Google to launch its new phones. We already know that their phones without GMS are not enjoying the expected sales, which is why the brand could accelerate the launch of its first mobile with HarmonyOS, its own operating system.

Until now, Huawei had not placed too much emphasis on its HarmonyOS operating system, also known as HongmenOS and its arrival on mobile phones, for whom the brand continues to bet on a free version of Android that is based on Huawei’s mobile services. For now, the brand’s own operating system is scheduled to star in Huawei’s IoT and its smart devices.

Where I said I say …
However, as the sanctions against the company have been further toughened, Huawei has the front door to the arrival of its first phones with HarmonyOS to the market. In a new conference held in China, the brand affirms that the first terminals with its new operating system will go on sale this year.
Contrary to what happened in the past, this time, in addition to a smart watch, there is also talk of tablets and smartphones. When landing as an operating system for smartphones, from using Google to give life to its devices, Huawei would go on to face directly with the American company giving life to the third great mobile operating system, in addition to iOs and Android (Windows Phones is more than dead, we cannot take it into account).
Obviously, it is not yet known with certainty which will be the Huawei mobile devices that would use this new software but we must discard the Mate 40 as the first phones of the firm with HarmonyOS . They will arrive with EMUI 10.1 and EMUI 11 respectively in stores in just over a month.
No updates on older models?
Last week the last extension granted by the American Department of Commerce to their companies to collaborate with Huawei was coming to an end, so all those old brand phones with licensed versions of Android are in a limbo of updates. At the moment it is unknown if they could be updated with new versions of Android or if Google will turn its back, definitely on Huawei .
In this hypothetical case, the brand claims to be able to upgrade these older models to HarmonyOS when the time comes.
