Huawei Phones: How to Manage the Background Applications

The EMUI customization layer has many options and possibilities that directly affect the user, one of the biggest problems we find is the applications that close in the background with the consequences that entails. For this reason we stop receiving notifications of important applications, making us have to reopen them to see them.

This system integrated in Huawei phones has not stopped changing until it has achieved that EMUI 10 and MIUI 11 for Xiaomi are two layers with many possibilities. These changes have allowed us to optimize several methods that we must take into account when optimizing applications that close in the background.

Anchor applications in EMUI multitasking

If what we are looking for is a simple method to prevent our applications from closing in the background, we will have to open the multitasking from the specific button or through the gestures, depending on our configuration. Once inside the multitasking we will have to drag down the application that we do not want to close again when it is in the background.

Master the start of background applications

The closure of the applications in the background is directly related to the management of the battery and therefore we will have to follow some steps if we do not want our applications to close automatically when EMUI decides that they are not necessary. To do this we will have to enter Settings> Battery> Start applications.

Within this section we have the option to mark the automatic management of all applications, which may cause us not to receive notifications. To prevent these applications from closing we will have to manually mark the applications that we do not care if they close and uncheck all those that we do not want to be affected.

Advanced configuration in extreme cases

Once we have completed the previous steps, we should not have problems again with the closing of the applications in the background with EMUI, although it is likely that some application that we need continuously continues to be affected. This configuration could directly affect the battery and therefore we only recommend using it in specific cases.

First we will have to enter Settings> Applications and notifications> Applications> Special access where we can see a series of options among which is battery optimization. Within the section we have the option to choose the specific application to not allow you to manage the battery at will, getting it to not close at any time in the background.
