Logically, the mid-range has always been the most popular among users, the one that offers good performance at a better price. And more with mobiles like the ones we are comparing today, such as the Huawei P40 Lite or the Huawei Nova 5T , two terminals that dive into the best-equipped mid-range and that are also accessible.
We are facing two phones that belong to two of the most popular ranges among mid-range terminals, the Huawei Lite, masters of the mid-range in Europe, and the Nova in China, although in this case, the Nova that we review is also available in our country. We are facing two mobiles that also have a very similar price, so we will see what differentiates them from each other.

Screen and dimensions
As for the panels, the Huawei P40 Lite comes with one of 6.4 inches with Full HD + resolution , while that of the Nova is 6.26 inches and also has Full HD + resolution .
Interestingly, both also have a screen without borders, or notch, although with a perforated camera in the upper corner to house the selfie camera. Regarding the dimensions, the P40 Lite measures 159.2 x 76.3 x 8.7 mm and weighs 183 grams, while the Nova measures 154.3 x 74 x 7.8 mm and weighs 174 grams. So the latter is somewhat smaller and lighter.
performance
In this section we have important differences, which may begin to tip the balance for the Nova. Because this 5T has the Kirin 980 processor , which has been mounted for example mobile phones as powerful as the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro.
For its part, the P40 Lite offers a Kirin 810 processor , the most powerful in the mid-range of the Chinese firm. On the RAM and storage, in the Lite we have 6GB + 128GB expandable through NM cards, and in the case of the Nova exactly the same, although the memory is not expandable.
Camera
Both mobiles have quad cameras . In the case of the Lite we have four sensors of 48 megapixels, 8 megapixels ultra wide angle, 2 megapixels macro and 2 megapixels deep. While in front, in the screen hole has a 16 megapixel camera.
For its part, the Nova has four 48-megapixel, 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle, 2-megapixel macro and 2-megapixel depth sensors, so we only see differences in the ultra-wide-angle sensor, with slightly more resolution in the latter. In front the Nova has an even better camera, 32 megapixels.
Battery, connectivity and software
In this section the Lite has a more capable 4200mAh battery with a very powerful 40W fast charge , which can charge 70% in just 30 minutes. For its part, the Nova has less battery capacity, 3750mAh and a less fast charge, 22.5W that can charge 50% in 24 minutes.
In any case, both are very fast charging systems. Both have a fingerprint reader on the side , while the Nova does not have a headphone minijack connector . Both have a USB Type-C connector, bluetooth 5.0. and Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac. Both already have Android 10, and as you know, in both cases without Google services or apps.
Price and conclusion
As we told you before, the price of both phones is very similar, so we have some doubts about it also in part of its characteristics. The Huawei P40 Lite costs 299 euros , while the Nova 5T can be found now for around 280 euros . And of course, if we compare, we have similar characteristics, with the Lite with a somewhat larger screen and a more capable battery and with faster charging.
Instead the Nova has a much more powerful processor and a significantly better camera. They are two very similar phones, but if we had to opt for one it would be the Nova 5T , since it is much more powerful, because it has a high-end processor and that is undoubtedly a determining factor, when it costs less and in the rest of sections the differences are very slight. In addition, in terms of design, finish and body texture, we find the Nova 5T more attractive.
