Huawei is a box of surprises. If a few days ago I presented without notice the new P40 Lite, without even knowing the P40 and P40 Pro officially, now we have just learned of the existence of a new variant of this family, which has just been put up for sale as Huawei P40 Lite E. We are facing a more decaffeinated version of the P40 Lite , and that little or nothing has to do with this except the name.
Only a few days ago Huawei officially unveiled the new P40 Lite. We assumed that we were facing the most modest version of the P40 family. Recall that Huawei has yet to officially present the P40 and P40 Pro, something that will presumably happen at the end of this March. Now and while we wait, a new and unknown Huawei P40 Lite E has just made an appearance.
In Huawei Poland
The terminal has appeared in all its splendor on the official website of Huawei in Poland, without having had previous news of its existence. As can be deduced, that letter “E” refers to more modest technical specifications. That is, we are facing a kind of “lite” version of the P40 Lite , a paradox difficult to understand right now. We have to leave the door open for any type of error, but at the moment the information is what Huawei officially shows.

Display, processor and memory
As we see in the data that appear on the web, the terminal has more modest features than the original P40 Lite. It has a 6.39-inch screen with HD + resolution and IPS LCD technology. Under the hood we find the same Kirin 810 as his brother, but accompanied by only 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded by microSD cards up to 512 GB.
Triple camera
We also see a triple rear camera configuration, with a style more consistent with last year’s P30 Lite and other Huawei devices of 2019 and less in line with the new square module of the P40 Lite. In this case we have a main sensor of 48 megapixels , a wide angle of 8 megapixels and a depth sensor of 2 megapixels. In the front and immersed in a hole, we find an 8 megapixel selfie sensor.
Connections and battery
The terminal has the basic connections such as Bluetooth 5.0, microUSB port and fingerprint reader on the back, also maintaining the 3.5mm headphone jack. It is also striking that despite launching in the middle of 2020, I arrived with and not on Android 10 as the P40 Lite. Its battery reaches 4,000 mAh and has a 10W charge.
