Huawei P30 Lite vs Xiaomi Mi 9: Comparison and Prices

Huawei-P30-Lite-vs-Xiaomi-Mi-9As 2020 starts, we see how the 2019 terminals drop in price considerably. It is not difficult to find a flagship last year with discounts of hundreds of euros, including those with Snapdragon 855. Today we wanted to compare two different terminals but that sow the doubt when buying among many users, such as the Huawei P30 Lite and the Xiaomi Mi 9.

The first thing that catches the attention of both terminals is a very different screen size. The P30 Lite is a somewhat more compact terminal with its 6.15 inches, compared to the 6.39 inches of the Mi 9. However both terminals reach a FullHD + resolution, while the Huawei mobile reaches a higher density of pixels per inch with its 415 dpi .

Size and weight

We also see that the P30 Lite takes advantage of that smaller screen size to achieve a lower weight with its 159 grams, compared to 173 grams of the Mi 9. It is also slightly thinner by its 7.4 millimeters compared to the 7.6 millimeters of the Mi 9.

Processor and memory

The vital difference between both terminals is in your brain, which is an important part of the price difference that separates these devices. The Huawei P30 Lite integrates a Kirin 710, a mid-range and compliant chip, but far from the powerful performance and energy efficiency of the Snapdragon 855 that the Xiaomi Mi 9 sports. In addition, the Huawei mobile stays with only 4 GB of RAM compared to the 6 GB of Mi 9 RAM . Both have an internal memory of 128 GB, but only the P30 Lite allows you to expand this capacity using microSD cards.

Triple camera in both

When we turn them around, we see practically the same configuration in both teams, with a triple camera led by a 48 megapixel sensor . A big difference is found in the 12 megapixel telephoto lens that integrates the Mi 9 and that in the case of the P30 Lite it is a 2 megapixel focus aid sensor.

Huawei P30 Lite New Edition

Both terminals have a wide angle, being 8 megapixels in the P30 Lite and 16 in the Xiaomi Mi 9. The selfie sensor is in both cases located in a front notch, being 24 megapixels in the P30 Lite and 20 megapixels in the Mi 9.

Android 10 has arrived

There is no fault with the updates on either of the two teams, which were born with Android Pie but have already received their own ration of Android 10, with the respective EMUI 10 and MIUI 11 layers. In this sense at least one more update is expected in both terminals, so they should end their lives with Android 11 if everything follows the usual course.

Batteries and charge

In the section of the battery we find practically the same configuration, with 3,340 mAh in the P30 Lite and 3,300 mAh in the Mi 9. However, a more advanced processor supports more and new technologies such as wireless and reverse charging that are present in the Xiaomi terminal and that make it boast the high-end gallons it has. The two teams can be charged thanks to fast charging technology, being 18W in the P30 Lite and 20W in the Mi 9.

Price difference

At this time we can get a Huawei P30 Lite for about 220 euros , a very restrained price if we consider that it has fallen from the 349 euros that initially cost. The same has happened with the Mi 9, which cost its 449 euros and now we can buy it for 349 euros. Still there is an important difference of 130 euros between the two. If your goal is not the maximum power, the P30 Lite may be enough, since in the rest of the sections the difference is not so huge. Even so, those 130 euros can be the difference between having a mid-range that has a shorter time course, or a powerful 2019 high-end that can still be very warlike.
