Huawei Has a Fast Charge of Up to 200W

Fast charging has undergone a very important advance in recent years. Now, a few minutes connected to the charger can be used to achieve a full charge, or at least to regain autonomy for the rest of the day. The main manufacturers announce constant improvements in this technology, with Huawei being the last to make a move, stating that they have a 200W fast charge ready.

Huawei Has a Fast Charge of Up to 200W

The presentation of the new Mate 40 has shown that Huawei continues to be at the forefront of the industry, despite all the obstacles it has encountered along the way since 2019. The Chinese firm has held the press conference for the Chinese version of the Mate 40 family, where Yu Chengdong said that Huawei has 120W or even 200W fast charging technology .

125W and 200W fast charging

However, the manager has stated that the company does not plan to use this technology in its mobiles in the short term. According to the Huawei executive, the current fast charging of 66W is the most suitable for the moment. The main argument to support this claim is that a much higher capacity fast charge makes sense for much larger batteries, therefore it is not feasible to see a 120W or 200W charge implemented in smaller batteries like those of the Mate 40.

The manager has also stated that the 50W wireless charging also has the best balance and stability that can be achieved at the moment. Recall that the new Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro + support 66W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. For its part, the standard Mate 40 has a 40W wired charge and a 40W wireless fast charge.

Technology on the rise

However, it is possible that other brands do consider it appropriate to increase these capacities, if only for the mere fact of surpassing their rivals with some commercial offer in this regard. Recall that Xiaomi has already shown an 80W wireless charging solution , which promises to charge a 4,000 mAh battery in just 19 minutes. In addition, it is capable of recharging up to 50% in just over 8 minutes and 10% in just one minute. However, fast charging is always involved in some controversy as charging capacities increase, due to possible degradation of the same before its time and the reduction of its useful life. This makes many users prefer to disable fast charging when they are in no rush to get their device charged ahead of time.
