HP Display Control is display software supplied for selected HP computers. It can provide color or viewing presets for supported hardware. It is not a universal screen-calibration app for every HP laptop, and installing a copy intended for another model may leave controls missing or produce the wrong result.

What does HP Display Control do?
The available controls depend on the computer, display and software version. You may see viewing presets or options for color and comfortable reading. Do not expect every screenshot from an older laptop to match your own app.

How to find the correct HP Display Control download
- Find your exact HP product name or product number. Avoid posting a serial number in a public comment.
- Open HP’s Software and Drivers page and select that product.
- Choose the operating system actually installed on the PC.
- Look for display-related software and read the package’s supported-model and operating-system notes.
- Install only the package listed for your system and follow its restart instructions.
If HP does not offer Display Control for that model, do not assume a missing download is an error. The model may use another utility or rely on Windows and hardware controls. A download with a familiar filename is not enough to prove compatibility.
Is HP Display Control safe to keep?
A genuine HP-supplied installation is different from an unknown copy downloaded from a software mirror. Keep the supported package updated. HP has published a Display Control security bulletin with model-specific updates; it is another reason to use your device’s current support page rather than an old direct installer link.
Fix missing controls or strange colors
- Confirm the app belongs to the exact computer model.
- Choose its normal or default preset, if offered, and compare the result.
- Temporarily compare with Windows Night light off so two color adjustments are not being confused.
- Check whether the problem affects one app, the built-in screen, or an external monitor.
- Update the supported graphics driver and HP package when updates are available.

Can you uninstall it?
You can remove the app through Windows’ installed-app controls. Before doing so, note your current presets and confirm how you would reinstall the correct HP package. Removing a display utility may remove its presets; it does not physically upgrade or repair the screen. If colors are still wrong in several apps after returning to normal settings, investigate the display or graphics driver rather than adding more adjustment tools.
