More and more users use their smartphone on a daily basis to be able to work from their mobile. And the main problem is that sometimes people cannot separate their personal life from their work life. For this reason, Xiaomi thought of those who had some of its models for their trade, so it brought a novelty from MIUI 10 that not everyone knows, the Business Mode, since it has gone unnoticed by many.

This Xiaomi tool will not only help us convert our terminal into a company mobile whenever we want, but it will also provide us with a series of features that we will explain later. In addition, the Asian manufacturer’s terminals have different methods that help us configure our usual phone into a smartphone for work whenever we want.
Therefore, we will explain all the possibilities that a Chinese device offers us to turn their terminals into a secure environment for our company. Avoiding that we continually confuse ourselves with the different personal and professional accounts. And it is that, in this way, we will forget about possible dislikes in the near future.

What does it consist of?
The functionality that we present to you today can be found among the additional settings of those phones from the Asian manufacturer that have a version of MIUI 10 or higher. In addition, it is an important novelty for all those users who, in their day to day, have to use two different terminals to separate their personal life from work. Well, with the Company Mode, or also known as Enterprise Mode , we will be able to work with a Xiaomi mobile .
In addition, not only will it serve us for this, but different features are added that will give us certain functions to have greater comfort when using said mobile device, it will even guarantee us an even higher security of our personal data. Although, the main negative factor that we can find is that, since it is not as well known, it has not been possible to fully exploit all the advantages that having this extra functionality entails.
Above all, it will greatly serve those companies that want to give their employees an exclusive device for business purposes. This means that a series of restrictions may be applied so that these terminals are used only for the work of a certain business. Basically, applications, communications, hardware or data, among many other functionalities, can be controlled or layered. So there will be no limits as you can completely master all your system options.

In addition, it allows us a centralized management of users, data, applications and behaviors with flexible remote configuration and management services. And, how could it be otherwise, this mode ensures a security mechanism for all the information that we have in said terminal.
And since the arrival of Android 12, and the new versions of MIUI , this mode has been incorporating new functions focused on improving the use we make of this tool to work with a Xiaomi mobile. Among them, we can find different advances focused on the privacy of the terminals that we use, in order to have an important differentiation between the company phone and the personal profile.
In addition, we have the opportunity to select what type of permissions each user will have in the profile that is used to work with the Chinese mobile, be it the location, the camera or the microphone, among many others. However, we may if permitted by company policy. But the thing doesn’t stop there, as the system includes a new API that will help us connect the different employees to a Wi-Fi network without the need to activate the device location requirement.
The negative side of these functions is that they are not integrated in all Xiaomi . More than anything, because it will be necessary to have a certification from Google itself so that you can have these extras. Although more and more phones from this Chinese firm are obtaining it.
How to activate it
The Chinese manufacturer makes it very easy for us to be able to enable this mode without any problem. In addition, when we access this functionality we will see an About Enterprise Mode button. In the event that we press it, it will take us directly to a very detailed explanation of how we have to activate it step by step in our terminal and what this Xiaomi feature is based on.
Although, we will tell you how to do it without having to resort to it, since the Terms and Conditions will come in Spanish, but then it will not redirect to a manufacturer’s website that is not translated. The first thing you should do is go to Settings> Additional settings> Enterprise mode . Once inside, two options will appear, one is the one that we have explained previously and another will be to activate it.

After clicking on that option, it will take us to a section in which it will ask us for our company credentials. To do this, we must register as developers in ‘My Enterprise Services’, with the aim of being given a code and a license. At the end of the page to which they send us, a form will appear that we must fill in with the data of our business. This way we will get them to contact us.
Once we have completed everything that they ask us and we have already been able to finalize said registration. We only have to re-enter that mode, click on activate and put the data that they have provided us. Afterwards, it will ask us to accept the privacy conditions and we will already have this extra function in our terminal.

Other tools to work
Luckily, if you don’t want to have to wait to be able to use your personal mobile to work, there are different methods that will help us with this. In addition, not only MIUI will make this easier for us, but we find two other ways that Android offers us. In this way, we will be able to separate both the applications and our personal data from those related to our work environment.
Google’s profile
In all devices that have the Google operating system, different profiles can be configured. With the aim that we can separate our personal life with work. And it is that, with this type of mode, we can use the same device safely and privately while we work. In addition, with the arrival of Android 12, privacy has been further improved, as we told you before. A fact that really worried many users, since they did not know if their terminals were monitored by the company.
This Android 11 profile has had to assign new functions, which until then were only available on mobile phones fully managed by a certain company. As is the case with asset management protection, personal use policies to restrict which apps can use, or management of hardware features (Bluetooth, camera, removable storage). There is even the possibility that employees do not have to use very complex passwords. This is due to new protections against external attacks. So a different password can be used for the job.

To configure this option in our Android terminal, what we have to do is access its Settings > click on the option called Google. When we are inside, we will have to touch on Configure and restore. This will allow us to see the option that we need to give us the possibility to start working on said profile, where we will find everything we need.
Once we have it enabled, we can pause it when accessing Work Profile on Android 12, or another version, by doing the following:
- Swipe from the bottom to the top of the screen.
- Tap the Work tab.
- At the bottom of the screen, turn the Work apps switch on or off.
Create a second space
We also find another possibility, which is offered by the phones of this Asian brand. That is, the fact of creating a second space within our mobile device to perform a series of functions, as is the case of using it only for our work environment. Likewise, it allows us to duplicate applications , being able to carry with us the work social network account in one space and the personal one in another. As for notifications, if we need some in both spaces, it will also leave us the possibility of continuing to receive them.

The process to start it on our Xiaomi mobile has two different ways. The first will be to do it through Settings> Second space, while the second will be from the security application. In both cases, we are going to find the same options and we can create it with the touch of a button. And to eliminate it, we must follow the same steps.
guest mode
Another of the alternatives offered by devices that have Android, such as Xiaomi phones, is the guest function . This mode will make it easier for us to lend a terminal to other people. Since, by activating it, certain limitations will be given so that they will not be able to see the gallery, applications or other data. Therefore, it will also be ideal to use it in case we cannot or do not want to activate the Enterprise mode on our Chinese smartphone.

To enable this guest space we will have to go to Settings> System and click on the Multiple users category. When we are inside, it will give us the possibility to change other users or create a new one if we have not yet configured any on the Chinese smartphone. In addition, it will also leave us the possibility to personalize each one of them with a photo and name. In this way, we can easily distinguish them each time we use one.
