The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 has arrived on the market loaded with news but, unfortunately, not all of them land in our country. Here we have neither NFC compatibility nor oxygen meter but, at least, we can make use of its PAI technology or the remote control of the mobile camera.
When the Xiaomi bracelet had not even been presented yet, numerous leaks bet that the successor to the Mi Band 4 would add the control of the camera to the control of other smartphone apps such as multimedia playback. As soon as the bracelet was presented, we verified that this was one of the new functions of the Mi Band 5.
Enable camera control from Xiaomi wristband
Surely if you have the device in your possession, knowing that it is possible to take photos with it without having to touch your mobile, you have gone crazy following the instructions on the bracelet itself. It indicates that to activate the function you must enter Mi Fit, select camera settings and synchronize the bracelet with your mobile. However, this route is wrong.
To enable the function you must open Mi Fit, go to your profile and select the Mi Band 5 . This is where you must locate the Laboratory menu and, once inside, you can find the Camera Settings as shown in the following image.
Once inside you will find a screen with the instructions to link the bracelet with the mobile camera in order to use the Xiaomi wearable device as a remote controller that acts as a trigger for the mobile.
How does it work?
Very easy. Once you have linked the Mi Band 5 with the camera of your phone you must scroll through the menu of the bracelet by sliding your finger from bottom to top until you find the “More” menu, here you will find an option called “Camera” which is the one that It will indicate the steps to follow to connect with the phone. As you have already done in the previous step, the only thing you should see is an interface with a shutter and a shutter as the photos show as soon as you open the camera of the mobile.
This is important, if you do not have the camera app open this function will not work. You must manually open the jacket app on the smartphone so that, when you press the trigger on the bracelet , you can take photos remotely without having to touch the smartphone, something especially useful when taking group photos or taking stable shots without tripod need.
