If you have an Amazon Echo placed on your nightstand, you will probably use it as an alarm clock. And it is quite comfortable to wake up with a virtual assistant and ask him to make a summary of the day. If until now you have not used the device as an alarm clock, we are going to show you how to do it and how to choose the sound that will wake you up from your eternal rest.
How to use the Amazon Echo as an alarm clock

Whatever Amazon Echo device you have at home, you can use it as an alarm clock if you create an alarm from the official application. The convenient thing, and what most users will probably do, is create the alarm through a voice command. That is, just by saying ” Alexa, set an alarm at 9 in the morning “, the assistant will create the appointment for you to wake up the next morning.
The problem with programming this alarm with the voice is that it will use a default melody and you will not be able to make some adjustments, so we are going to show you the way to customize your awakening a little more with all the melodies included in the system. Thus, you can create different alarms according to your needs and program a different sound for each of them.
All you have to do is go to the official Alexa application to manage alarms. Follow the steps below to complete the process:
- Open the Alexa application on your Android or iOS device and click on the icon in the upper left corner to open the drop-down menu.

- In this menu select Reminders and Alarms.

- In this menu you can configure reminders, alarms and timers. In this case, we will focus on alarms, so select that tab.
- If you have never created an alarm before, the list will be empty, so let’s create one for the details. Click on Add alarm.

- On the next screen you should configure all the parameters, starting with the time the alarm will sound. The points to configure are the following:

-
- Alarm time: The time at which we want the warning to sound.
- Device: Do you have several Echo at home? Here you can select which home alarm the alarm will sound in. Are you in the living room and want to set the bedroom alarm? Here you can do it.
- Repeat: This will be where you define if you want the alarm to be on time or to sound every day of the week. An alarm only for weekends? Loose days? Choose what you need.
- Date: If you want the alarm to sound on a specific day, you can choose it here. Mark the desired date on the calendar and that’s it.
- Sound: This is where we will be able to define the sound that we want to sound in the alarm. Unfortunately, we will not be able to use custom sounds or music, so we will have to limit ourselves to the list of melodies that the devices offer.

After configuring all these parameters you only have to click on Save to store the created alarm. Your Echo will sound right at the moment you asked for it and with the chosen sound.
