It always happens to you the same: you go into someone’s Stories and wonder where the hell did you get that new filter you are using. You know that adding it to your “personal catalog” is as easy as tapping on its name, but how did the person you followed find it? Is there a way to search for filters? Today we are going to explain it to you.
Filters for Instagram Stories
The Instagram Stories would not be the same without their famous filters. These have given the tool of the social network the final touch so that we all get hooked and dare to pose in front of our phones with a “mask”. The application function already offers several predetermined filters, which can be accessed from the Stories recording screen and sliding the effect icons that appear in the lower area to the left.
The one with the dog’s ears and muzzle, the sunglasses, the hearts … there are a good number of options, but their changes are subject to updates made by Instagram itself and there comes a time when you have them all more than hackneyed. This is when users start to demand new filters , but where are they looking for? Many people do not know that the application has its own filter section, classified by categories and in which you can use keywords to find new skins.
How to find new filters
As we said, there is a search engine for filters, in which you can dive by subject and choose from the many available options that people upload. The problem is that this search section is not always easy to find due to not having a prominent place within the app.
The way to find them is from the Stories recording screen itself:
- Go to the Stories recording interface and head to the bottom where the fire button and filters are located.
- Slide all to the left until you reach the last one and tap on it.
- You will have accessed the ” Explore Effects ” section, where you have access to a Gallery.
- Use the search to search a topic or the different categories to find filters for fantasy, animals, love and many more.
- Select the one you see that you like (they are always shown as an example in real personals) and you can either give “Try” to open the recording screen of Stories again or tap on the first lower icon to download it – it will appear at from now to the left of the fire button.
Another option to get to this search engine is by tapping on the name of any effect (when you select it, a small sign of what it is called and who created it appears) which will open a card. In it you will also see “Explore effects” that will also take you to the aforementioned Gallery.
Why is Instagram so hidden from this search option? Nobody knows. What we imagine (or hope) is that in some next update it may be more accessible and have a better place within the application. Lack of interest and demand was not going to be missing, of course …
