How to Screenshot a Full Page in Edge

At this point there is no doubt that Microsoft is hard at work developing its new Internet browser. Specifically, we refer to the new Edge, a software that serves as a substitute for the classic Edge that was released together with Windows 10 back in 2015.

However, despite being the program that was included by default to move around the Internet in Windows, its success was rather limited. With this software, what the firm wanted was to recover the success it had with Internet Explorer years ago, but without success. That is why he finally decided to give his project a twist and join Google’s Chromium project.

This is where a few months ago began with the development of the new Edge , a program much closer internally to the successful Chrome of the search giant. But of course, entering a market as competitive as this is not easy. More if we take into account that the aforementioned Google proposal is more than established and established with a huge market penetration. But it is also true that with a few months of life, Microsoft’s browser has already managed to overtake the second proposal, Mozilla’s Firefox.

How to capture a part of the screen when using the new Edge

This means that the growth of the new Edge is on track. In fact, we must bear in mind that proposals such as Chrome and Firefox have been around for many years and versions. Therefore, this step forward taken by the new Edge in just a few months is very much to take into account, as well as important.

What’s more, it could be said that at the moment it is a program that in some respects closely resembles the popular Chrome, or even surpasses it. Hence, little by little some users begin to be curious and try this software. Here we want to focus on an interesting integrated function, which is none other than its own screen capturer . This will be very useful to us since this way we can do without external applications to save screenshots when browsing.

Keep in mind that Microsoft is currently part of the Chromium project, in which many other developers participate. Therefore, all of them add and share characteristics that they add to their work , including, how could it be otherwise, Microsoft itself. For example, to capture a part of a web in the new Edge, what we have to do is go to the main menu of the program, which is represented by three horizontal dots, and select the Web Capture option.

Customize Area Capture in Edge

Thus, in the event that we opt for the Free Selection mode, the web that we have on the screen will open a box that we can resize with the mouse. This is actually the section of the visited page that we are preparing to capture directly from the browser. Therefore, to select a specific part, either we resize it, or we drag it with the mouse. In turn, in the lower right corner we see that a dialog box with two options is displayed.

It will allow us either to finish the capture with the Copy button, or to draw freehand in it from Add notes. As you can imagine, this can be very useful when it comes to getting certain parts of a website, or even to customize the capture.

If we click on the Add notes mode, the program opens another work desk with some interesting functions that allow us to change that capture. In this way, from it we can draw freehand, in addition to choosing the thickness or color of the brush. So we can highlight certain parts of the capture, or add handwritten notes if we need them.

Escritorio notas capturas

At the same time it is worth noting that also from this same window we have the possibility of sharing with others the new capture that we have taken. Here we find several possibilities to send this element and thus Edge adapts to the needs of each case. Likewise, and also from here, we have the alternative of saving that capture, or of sending it directly to the clipboard of the operating system.

How to capture an entire web in Microsoft Edge

But that is not all we can do with the new Redmond browser in this sense. And it is that Edge also allows us to capture, not only a part of a web, but the entire page directly. This is something that to date in other browsers we could do using third-party extensions. However, this is a functionality that Microsoft is now introducing natively in its program.

To do this, as in the previous case, we go to the main menu of the program, and click on the Web Capture option. But in this case we are going to opt for clicking on Full Page.

Capturar página completa

Therefore, in this case we no longer have to do anything else, since Edge will start up by itself. What is achieved with this is that the program automatically captures the entire web that we have on the screen without even having to scroll through it. Then the work desk that we talked about earlier will appear again so that we can customize the new capture. But in this case we can add our own marks or texts freehand by scrolling through the entire captured image that corresponds to the entire web.

Once we have finished with these customization tasks, from here we will be able, again, to save the capture of the entire web, or share it with third parties. This is something that right now is being implemented little by little in the Beta versions of the browser until it reaches the stable version of the program in a few weeks.

Capture websites in Firefox with extensions

Full Page Capture – FireShot

As its name suggests, this is a third-party extension for Microsoft’s browser that allows us to capture entire websites. In addition, we can save these in multiple formats later, all quickly and easily. It also allows you to capture only the visible part of the web.

GoFullPage

On the other hand we find this other proposal to capture the entire current page reliably and quickly. It is worth noting that if we wish, we can also save that capture that we have just made in PDF format for later reference.

Web Screen Capture

When it comes to capturing complete pages, another solution that we can use is Web Screen Capture. It also integrates seamlessly into Edge and the rest of Chromium browsers to capture screenshots of the complete websites that we visit every day.

Screen Capture and download

This other element that we are talking about here, also allows us to capture the current page and later download the image corresponding to it.
