Removing demo mode on a Samsung phone depends on how it was set up. A display setting in Developer options is different from Samsung Retail Mode, which stores use to manage demonstration devices. There is no verified universal code in this guide that removes retail mode from every Galaxy model.

First check what “demo mode” means
| What you see | What to check |
|---|---|
| A demo setting in Developer options | Whether only the status-bar display has been changed |
| Samsung Retail Mode app, promotional videos or settings that keep returning | Whether the seller has properly released the device from retail setup |
| A phone sold as a Live Demo Unit | Its exact model and whether it is suitable for normal phone use |
| A Samsung TV or watch in demo mode | Instructions for that product, rather than phone reset codes |
If it is a Developer options setting
If Developer options is already enabled and contains a Demo mode entry, turn off that entry’s demo controls. Menu names and availability vary. This should not be treated as a way to remove a retail app or store management.
Do not enable developer settings just because a video calls every demo screen the same thing. Samsung’s Developer options guide explains that these settings are intended for development and can affect how the phone works.
If Samsung Retail Mode is installed
- Find the exact model number in Settings → About phone or About tablet, if accessible.
- Keep the purchase receipt and photograph the demo message.
- Ask the seller to confirm whether the device is a normal retail unit or a dedicated demonstration unit.
- Ask the seller or Samsung support for the correct removal process for that model and its store setup.
- Before any approved reset, save personal files elsewhere and check which Google and Samsung accounts are signed in.
Samsung’s Retail Mode registration guide describes store registration and periodic clearing of data added after activation. That makes a device still running retail mode a poor place to keep your only copy of photos or notes.
Will a factory reset fix it?
Do not assume it will. A reset erases personal data, but it is not proof that retail management has been removed or that a demo unit has all the features of a normal phone. Do not flash firmware or enter random reset codes before the seller has checked the unit.
For Samsung A15, A35, S22, S24, S25 or Galaxy Tab questions, the model name alone is not enough to promise one unlock code. Start with Samsung’s model support. If the problem is only an unfamiliar status icon, use our Samsung icon guide. Television owners should use the separate Samsung TV PIN guide; TV PINs do not unlock phone retail mode.
