Although screen captures are one of the most common actions for many users, our phones also include the screen recording option. This function goes a step further since unlike achieving a specific screenshot, we can have a video record of what has happened on our device. However, this option also has its own settings and exceptions that we will have to take into account.
Being able to have a graphic record of what happens on our smartphone is something that has evolved a lot over the years. Gone are the times when taking a screenshot was something reserved for third-party applications. Shortly after, new ways of taking these captures were included, until it was possible to make screen recordings . Users may want to record their screen for very different purposes, although some of the more common ones contemplate recording games of games or serving as an aid to teach other people some configuration tasks.
How is the mobile screen recorded?
As we say, practically all the layers of personalization and terminals launched in recent years, have their own option to record the screen. The most common is to find the option within the quick settings of the taskbar. If not, we may have to add the function by clicking on the options button on the taskbar and adding the screen recording icon to the options. Once done we can press the button and the screen recording will begin. When paused, we will find the resulting video inside the album along with the rest of the photo and video folders.
During the screen recording, we will be able to see a floating icon, with options to pause or stop the recording. The good thing about this icon is that it will not appear in the final recording, but by touching and dragging it we can place it in the place that least interferes with us on the screen.

The options available
Within the “Screen Capture” options, we can choose some of the default options for each time we activate the screen recording function. This means that we will have at our disposal options such as:
- Show or hide touch path : it is useful when recording to the screen, used as a tutorial for another person. In this way, all the touches on the screen and their trajectory will be displayed in the final result. It is enough to deactivate the option so that they do not appear.
- Record sound: it is optional, whether or not to record the sound during the video. If it is not necessary, we must deactivate this option, since otherwise the video will occupy more space, while unwanted background sounds can be captured.
- Image quality: between low, medium or high, we will select the quality according to our needs.
- Do Not Disturb mode: means that screen recording will have full priority. That is, it will not be interrupted by notifications or alarms when it is running.
Screen recording exceptions
For security reasons, there are screens where screen recording will not be able to capture images . We are referring to the system screens or various applications such as banking, where passwords and other private information are entered. In that case, if we are recording the screen and we go through one of those screens, the result will be a black curtain. This also applies to copyrighted applications like Netflix and the like.
If you have an older mobile or screen recording is not enabled, you may have to install a third-party tool to be able to do so. In Google Play there is a lot of software to achieve this. The disadvantage of not being a native function is that it will have to endure limitations in its functions or even the inclusion of annoying advertising between recording and recording.
