Recording calls is usually a very useful function although it is not available on all mobile phones in the market. There is not even consensus on Huawei phones, where some allow you to record calls natively and others do not have this option, although we can always find a solution to achieve our goal.
If you have a Huawei or Honor phone that works with EMUI 9 or 9.1, there is an easy solution to integrate the call recorder to the native phone call application. Everything happens by installing an APK file that the developers extracted from the P30 Pro when it was updated to EMUI 9.1.
Enable Recording
To activate the call recorder we will have to download this APK, called ” HwCallRecorder” and install it as with any other app. We will have to make sure we have the “unknown origins” box checked, an option we will go directly to if the package installer detects that we do not have it activated.
Once the application is done and when they call or call us, we will see a new icon represented by waves, which activates the recording of calls. Pressing will start recording, which will be interrupted when you press it again or when the call ends. To access the recording file we will have to go to the “Recorder” application along with the rest of the voice files.
The problem with EMUI 10 on Android 10
Huawei has disabled this option in EMUI 10 with Android 10. However, it will work if you have this apk installed before making the leap to the new version. That is, if you have already updated your mobile to EMUI 10 and want to install it to have the call recording, the installation will throw an error, which does not happen if this update is made with HwCallRecorder previously installed.
The solution
Until you see if Huawei integrates the call recorder again in EMUI 10, the best solution is to install a third-party app. Although there are hundreds of them, one of the most popular is Cube ACR. This app is installed and integrates a button to start recording each call, which can also be made automatically or choose the contacts we always want to record. It also has the option to record conversations on Google Play.

Activate Permissions
Due to the aggressive EMUI energy optimization system, the application will work correctly as long as we manually configure CUBE ACR within the application options. In the configuration of the battery, we must click on the app once installed and accept all the operating permits so that it can run correctly in the background.
We remind you that the recording of telephone calls to third parties always depends on the legislation in force in each country. Telephone recordings can be made in Spain, provided the other person is notified that the conversation is being recorded.
