As we delve into iOS 17, we are discovering an operating system that initially appeared to be a continuation of its predecessors. However, as time goes on, it is proving to be a version filled with intriguing features. One of the most notable innovations is the introduction of “contact poster.” Let’s take a closer look at this significant addition.

In iOS 17, the features are not only about visual improvements but also revolve around enhancing our overall user experience, fostering a stronger connection with our iPhones. This is where the “contact posts” come into play, combining both aspects seamlessly. Let’s explore how we can create our own personalized contact posts.
To start creating our contact posts, we need to navigate to the “Contacts” section. At the top of the screen, you’ll notice a small button that opens up the customization options for this calling window.
By default, all contact screens display initials or the first letter of the first and last name. For instance, for Francisco Hidalgo, the initials “F” and “H” would appear.
However, you have the option to go beyond the initials and create a more unique contact post. At the bottom of the screen, you’ll find the option to “Create a New One.” Clicking on this will open up a new interface that resembles iOS customization, allowing you to craft a distinctive contact post that truly reflects your personal touch.

As you explore the contact post options in iOS 17, you’ll discover a range of possibilities to customize and personalize your favorite contacts. You can choose from various methods, such as taking a photo of the contact, using their name or initials (limited to a maximum of two letters by default).

Furthermore, you have the flexibility to change the background, just like you did with the final wallpaper in iOS 16. But one of the most exciting features is the ability to add Memojis. Apple provides several default Memojis to choose from, and you can even create your own unique ones.
When you’ve settled on a Memoji or photo, you can fine-tune the text style, much like you do with your lock screen. You have the option to select different fonts, adjust thickness, and play with colors. If you wish to integrate the contact post with the wallpaper, simply click on the first option. The vivid colors can make the Memoji and its name pop, while the softer or lighter shades create an elegant look.

After clicking “OK,” you’ll get a preview of how your contact post will appear. Once you are satisfied, click “Continue.” However, the process doesn’t end there. Now, you need to position your contact post as it will appear when minimized, ensuring it looks perfect in all aspects.
The new way to send files through Aridrop
One of the fantastic features introduced in iOS 17 is the option to share your contact posts or phone numbers using AirDrop, now renamed “NameDrop.”

Using this function is incredibly simple: just tap on the phone number or contact post, and the information transfer will initiate automatically.
An important improvement in iOS 17 is that, unlike iOS 16, now you can continue using your device while transferring files via AirDrop. This is especially valuable when sharing multiple contacts or large files, as you can multitask without any interruptions.
