Fast charging is one of the technologies that has most improved the experience with our mobiles. In a world where rush rushes through us, ten or fifteen minutes of charging can be enough for autonomy to last all day. But how can we know if the fast charge of our mobile is working and what type is ours, among those available in the market.
As we have seen on other occasions, there are several types of fast charging available in the market. The main brands such as OPPO, Motorola, Samsung, Xiaomi or realme, have their own fast charging technology. The doubt about whether our mobile is taking advantage of all this capacity can occur at any time, but we can easily answer questions.
Know if fast charging works
Loading speed
It is the first indicative to know that everything is going well. The manufacturer usually provides some data on the load capacity. For example, if your mobile should charge 50% in 30 minutes and it is taking much longer (you always have to leave a small margin), it is that fast charging may not be working. In this case we will have to verify that we are charging the terminal with the original charger. Sometimes the manufacturer does not include the quick charger in the sales package. In that case, we may have to value the purchase of the fast charger if we want to take advantage of this technology.
Loading animation
Many manufacturers differentiate charging animation when fast or standard charging is running. This is the case of Xiaomi, OPPO, realme and others. When we are loading with fast charge , we will see that the animation or the icon will indicate it.
An app to get out of doubts
There are specially developed applications to tell us in detail what happens on our mobile when we load it. In this way we can see in real time the charging speed , the remaining time for the battery to reach 100% and a summary of previous charges. One of the best known is AccuBattery, which even displays a bar that will turn green when fast charging is running. We will be able to see the amperage and the total capacity of our battery at the time of charging, so we will leave any doubt.
Android sneaks
The Android operating system can also tell us if fast charging is working or not. When the mobile is connected to the power, we will see a message on the lock screen, which can say “Charging”, “Charging quickly” or even “Charging slowly” The first message reveals that our mobile is charging between 5W and 7.5 W, while “Fast Charging” reveals that fast charging is occurring at over 7.5W. We will receive the slow charge message when the power is below 5W.
What kind of fast charge do I have
As we have previously mentioned, there are different types of fast charging, and their greater or lesser power is usually related to the range of our device. In this way, a 10W or 10 watt charging stand is already considered fast charging, since for example Quick Charge 1.0 already offered support for this power. However, it will not be the same that our mobile reaches a power of 10W, that 18W or the most advanced of 65W.
Look at the charger
Our original charger is the best indicative. It shows the supported volts and amps. For example , if 5V / 2A is indicated, it means that the supported power is 10W . Similarly, an 18W fast charge will reflect on the 9V / 2A charger. In each case, we will simply have to multiply the volts by the amps, and we will get the watts of charge.
In Settings
Although this is not the case on all mobiles, many display precise information on the type of charge in the Settings menu, in the section dedicated to the battery. In this way we can see the voltage, the battery level and the type of charge.
Manufacturer website
In the web section dedicated to our mobile, we can find precise details of the charge and the battery. Manufacturers usually dedicate a section to count their maximum efficiency , charging speed, charging watts and other information that allows us to know with certainty the type of charge we have.
