After officially announcing the beginning of its development almost a year ago, Guerrilla has finally presented the first trailer with gameplay of the second installment of Horizon, revealing many of the new features that will accompany Aloy in this exciting adventure. The plot
In this installment we will follow the time of the first game, in a future located 1,000 years from now where a world catastrophe has left the planet with humans in the minority and machines dominating much of the terrain. The novelty in the west is that a strange red plague is spreading across the land, killing crops and all manner of life.
Aloy’s mission is to find the source of the problem and find the necessary technology to end everything, and for this she will meet several allies and friends. But he will not avoid running into enemies, such as the rebellious faction of the Tenakth, capable of taking control of the machines and dominating them.
New methods of combat
Aloy will now enjoy new movements and animations to make the battles more dynamic and spectacular. For this he will use his spear, the bow (ideal for damaging machines) and the slings, which will fire grenades with which to temporarily reduce the enemy.
All weapons can be improved on the workbench, so we can progressively increase their characteristics and damage power as we progress through the game.
More machines than ever
The repertoire of machines will be noticeably enlarged, finding Alasols, Garricaptores, Terramamuts, Chascafauces and Cavadores, as well as many other machines that have not been revealed for now. In the video, we have been able to witness the combat against a large Terramamut , where Aloy has used several of her weapons to reduce the colossus and end the danger.
Gadgets to surprise
In addition to Aloy’s own abilities and weapons, Horizon Forbidden West has introduced a series of tools that will allow the player to enjoy even more the places and scenarios that have been created in this new installment. On the one hand, we will have the hook, which will allow us to hang from ledges and quickly climb to great heights to avoid dangers.
The wing shield will be an instant parachute with which we can descend from the heights without suffering damage, something that has reminded many of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild . And last but not least, the diving mask , which will allow Aloy to spend as long as she wants underwater, allowing us to discover an aquatic world that looks incredibly good on the screen (eye hair movement).
For PS5, and also for PS4
The announcement has also been used to confirm that Horizon Forbidden West will be available for PS4. Thus, we put an end to the doubts that continued to exist in the environment about the availability of the game in the previous generation, so if you were one of those who was still waiting, you can rest easy. Of course, we do not want to imagine how the fans of PS4 Pro will sound.
When will it go on sale?
For now, Guerrilla has not wanted to go into details of its launch. They have confirmed that development is following the marked route and everything is going at a very good pace, but for now they prefer not to give a launch date, so we will most likely have to wait for E3 to meet it.
