The Golden Globes Have a Clear Favorite: Netflix

A few years ago content platforms did not take them so seriously. They were basically online catalogs of diverse films and series that we had already seen to which some touches of genius were added with certain and few original proposals. Over time, however, this was changed. The services gained relevance (and our subscriptions, of course) which allowed them to be betting more and more frequently and commitment to their own films, series and documentaries .

Then came the first nominations for a television award and then the awards in the biggest prize that can be obtained in the sector: the Oscars . We are telling you, of course, the story (in broad strokes) of Netflix, which has seen how over time its offer is filled with more and more original and important original productions, leading it to opt for great awards (and in important categories ).

The last? Nothing less than the 2020 Golden Globes , whose nominations have been unveiled this week. The Red N platform accumulates no less than 34 (between film and television), demonstrating that it is taken more seriously than ever and that its proposals are in the mouth and look at everyone.

In Better dramatic film we have neither more nor less than three Netflix titles of the five possible: The Irish, the Scorsese movie; The two potatoes; and the tear stories of a marriage .

The latter also accumulates nominations for best actress (Scarlett Johansson), best actor (Adam Driver) and best screenplay, among others. As for The Irish , the awards also look at the work in the script and the best supporting actor (Al Pacino and Joe Pesci).

It goes without saying that there is also room for the series or miniseries , with Russian doll, Creedme, The Crown, The Kominsky method, The Politician , among others.

HBO and Amazon also get theirs with Chernobyl, Game of Thrones, The Wonderful Mrs. Maisel or Fleabag , but nothing compared to the sweeping effect of Netflix.

And watch out because this has only just begun. Many point out that The Irish and Stories of a Marriage could go directly to the Oscars of 2020 and Netflix’s catalog of original proposals will only grow, since the platform has promised so (it was his excuse to raise prices). Go good closing of 2019 takes the American company.
