iOS 14 is the latest version of Apple‘s operating system, to which many iPhones have already made the leap. However, as often happens in the early stages of a new version, iPhone users are beginning to find errors that more than serious, they seem excessively annoying. One of the most widespread causes the iPhone not to receive notifications. Some have found that the temporary “fix” is simpler than it sounds.
It is commonplace, when a new version of iOS is launched and reaches thousands of users in a massive way, that problems do not take long to appear. In this case, the notification problem is appearing on many iPhones running under iOS 14 and not just the latest iPhone 12.
Notifications do not arrive
The main problem is that users do not receive the notifications. In some cases, notifications arrive, but not their banners. In other variants of the problem, notifications appear only when you are inside the app that is supposed to receive them, but they stop appearing as soon as the screen is locked. Regardless of the version of the same problem, it is something extremely uncomfortable that at the moment does not have a clear solution. Meanwhile, specialized forums continue to fill with users who report this problem, although possible solutions have also started to arrive.

Temporary and causative patch
Based on various tests, the problem appears to be related to Bluetooth connectivity. When this connection is deactivated, notifications take place without problem in most cases. Turning off Bluetooth seems to be solving the problem although it is not the ideal solution, it works as a temporary patch. However, there are other possible solutions that seem to be working while the actual solution arrives from Apple:
- Activate the Show on lock screen option in Settings / Notifications / Messages
- Disable “Show in CarPlay” function within notification settings
- Add repeated alerts within the notification settings
- Disable “Hide alerts” within the “Messages” application
