As our mobiles have evolved, the locked screen has ceased to be an inert element. Now features like Always On Display take advantage of OLED panels like never before to allow information to be displayed permanently. How could it be otherwise, Samsung mobiles have their own Always On Display, but also with other complementary functions such as FaceWidgets, which allow you to have even more information , both in this function and on the lock screen.
When our Samsung mobile is locked, we can choose certain elements that may or may not be displayed, in the same way that it happens with Always On Display. This is where FaceWidgets come into play. The main objective they pursue is that the user does not have to unlock the screen to have all the possible information, without sacrificing battery life. Therefore, we can get quick access to useful information on the lock screen and Always On Display, even when using a secure type of screen lock. For example, we can see important information and applications by sliding a finger to the side on the clock.
How FaceWidgets are activated
In order to manage this function, we will have to go to the Settings menu and enter the Lock screen options, which is where functions such as Always On Display or Clock Style are managed . Once inside and just below the Roaming Clock, we will see the FaceWidgets function.
Items to choose
Once inside, we can choose the elements that will be shown on the lock screen , and likewise choose if we want them to be shown in Always On Display, in the case of having the function activated. Among the elements to choose from, we will find:
- Today’s events: information about appointments or events
- Weather: to view the weather information
- Music: play or pause songs that we are listening
- Next alarm: know what the next alarm will be
- Bixby routines: manage configured routines
Organize your FaceWidgets
Likewise, we can reorder the Facewidgets if we want to change the order of appearance of the information panels . To do this, click on “Reorder” and hold down the icon of the two arrows that is next to the panel that we want to change the order. Now we just have to drag it to the position we want it to occupy. Once done, we release the icon when we have placed the panel in its new position.
