Extend the battery of your iPhone thanks to the super saving mode!

One of the complaints that have been repeated the most throughout history with the iPhone is that of its battery life, which lasts less and less or that the optimization is not entirely well done. A statement that has its share of myth, but also to a large extent for older mobiles, its great part of truth.

For this reason, perhaps the exact moment will come when we are going to need extra savings in our battery by not having a charger on hand and therefore not being able to charge it. To do this, you do not have to look for ways to save battery, but you can create them yourself.

Extend the battery of your iPhone

In just a moment we are going to believe that we are Apple developers and we will use the Shortcuts app on our iPhone to create what we have called the ‘super battery saving’ mode , with which we will have the option of saving battery life. excessive battery. To do this we will have to follow a few steps with which we can automate some processes on our iPhone. Follow us step by step!

Create super saving mode

To create this super battery saving mode and never fear that it will run out quickly, you will have to go to the Shortcuts app that comes natively on your iPhone and once there, you will have to create a new shortcut. Already in the creation menu, you will have to carry out the selection of certain elements so that they are activated or deactivated. To select each of the following modes, you must go to the bottom search bar and search for each item or action:

  • Set the brightness to the level you want. We recommend that you do it around 10 or 20%.
  • Select WiFi and disable it.
  • Select mobile data and disable it.
  • Activate Do Not Disturb mode until it is deactivated.
  • Turn on Airplane mode .

Of course, you will be realizing that this function is activating many tools with which you will make the mobile battery last much longer than it should, but you will also be limiting the functions of your mobile to little more than seeing the time. So in this case, you may have to see if, for example, it is convenient for you to deactivate airplane mode or WiFi , although being customizable, it is up to each one.

Once this super saving mode is created, in order to always have it at hand to activate it, you can create a widget in the form of a button on your home screen so that it remains as an activation button and this battery mode is always ready to be activated when you need it.

In order for the experience to be as complete as possible, what we recommend is that you do the same in reverse , that is, a button to deactivate and reset all the elements that you have activated. This will be as easy as following the same steps that we have shown you so far, but what was deactivated must now be activated and vice versa. In this way, with the button to deactivate this well-functioning mode, we will avoid reactivating all the connections again and adjusting the brightness.

Automate activation

It is also true that the fact of having to deactivate and activate the mode can be absolutely annoying, when in reality, our iPhone is capable of doing it on its own. For this, there are automations within the shortcuts app, with which we can tell our iPhone to automatically execute a shortcut when something happens on our Apple phone.

In this case, to carry out this question, first of all, of course, we will have to go to the automation menu, creating a new one, and we will have to choose the battery level variable , so that this super battery saving mode is activated when a specific battery percentage is reached. From here, we tend to add in the same way that we have done with the shortcut made previously, all the functions must be placed so that our mobile saves as much battery as possible. Once we put everything in our device, you just have to let it reach the indicated battery level so that all the machinery is activated and you save a good battery spike.

From now on you won’t have to worry at all about activating or deactivating this mode, since your iPhone will do it for you. We personally have placed it below 20% since it is the battery percentage from which we can say that we are running out of battery but you can place it wherever you want. In this way, the super battery saving mode will be activated at any time without you having to be aware of whether it is activated or not.
