One of the most popular sports in Spain is football and Google knows that, for that reason, thanks to the keywords that it captures when we are talking, or, through the searches that we carry out, it takes the trouble to activate notifications about matches . On other occasions we have been able to activate it ourselves, but, however, we are no longer interested in being aware of all the results.
This generates a big problem, since the news bar on our smartphone can end up being filled with notices that we don’t want to see at all. Luckily, it is possible to remove it by following a series of steps that we are going to show you. The goals, the start of the match or the end, will no longer take center stage on our smartphone.
Perhaps you are still interested in knowing the result of your favorite team in La Liga, Champions or Europa League, but what bothers you is the sound. For those situations, you can simply choose to silence the notification, for which on Android you just have to leave your finger pressed on it and choose to silence it. While on the iPhone you have the side button to activate the do not disturb mode.
Steps to disable football notifications
We have two paths to meet our objective, the first is the simplest of all and leads us to be patient to receive one of those annoying alerts. In our case, they were repeated with English teams, after having done searches about it, Google understood that it was a key issue for us. The process to follow when we receive the alert is not to tilt it, as we usually do, but consists of the following:
- We display the notification completely.
- Next, we will see the button to deactivate it.
- Tapping on this option will take us to the Google app, from where we can change our preference.
This path, however, is not as useful with all types of alerts linked to the beautiful game. Other times, from the warning of a goal or the start of a game we do not have this possibility. Something that will also change depending on our version of the operating system. The process to deactivate the soccer notifications that Google sends us goes through a search, with the following mechanism.
- We access the Google app or the widget with the search bar.
- We write the name of the team that we receive notices.
- An image similar to the one shown will appear.
- We just have to touch the little bell and the warnings will be deactivated.
We can follow that same procedure with all the teams from which we receive news, although it is also important that you change your preferences in this way in competitions. That is, you will have to write La Liga or Champions, if they continue to bombard you with alerts and news.
Cut in the bud with Google warnings
In the event that the previous mechanism does not finish taking effect or after a few days and weeks everything returns to what it was, you will have a more drastic solution to the problem. Avoiding it from the system itself is possible, ending Google notifications that enter the terminal. For this, what we will do is the following:
- We enter the Settings.
- We go down to Applications.
- We chose in the Google list.
- Next Notifications.
- To then go down and touch Sports.
