When browsing the Internet we can come across multiple pages that are dangerous. Many sites are designed to steal information and data from visitors. Some may be legitimate but have suffered an external attack. In this article we echo a new tool designed by ElevenPaths that allows us to check if a page we visit is malicious or not. We are going to talk about how it works and how we can install it on our computer.
ElevenPaths launches EasyDoH to detect malicious sites
One of the most common malware entries is precisely when browsing dangerous pages . It is something that we can find very frequently online and that could compromise our team. We could inadvertently download malicious software, enter links that are actually part of a Phishing attack, etc.
To avoid this we can make use of different tools that help us detect dangerous sites. Now from ElevenPaths they have developed a new extension that is available for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox . As we know they are two of the most used browsers today. It is a version still in testing, but perfectly functional.
This tool is called EasyDoH and it is a filter for malicious domains. For this they use a new intelligence system. The objective is on the one hand to improve the security of users but also to preserve privacy. They are two very important factors and are not always present.
From ElevenPaths they indicate that there is still room to improve the tool and include different functions. It is, as we have indicated, a version still in Beta.
As we know DoH means resolving domains using HTTPS. We can translate it as DNS or see HTTPS.
Good test results
ElevenPaths’ tests of EasyDoH have been successful and this tool can be used to avoid accessing domains that represent a danger to our security.
At the moment it is a version that is in Beta and still needs some configurations and improvements to launch officially, but the tests carried out so far have been correct.

It is essential to avoid doing it from possible third party sites, since we could be installing software that has been maliciously modified to harm our security.
Threats can be entered through the browser extensions . Keep in mind that they are a double-edged sword. It is true that they offer us interesting functions and features, which can improve our browsing experience, but could also be used by hackers to deploy their attacks. That is why we must always select very well the plugins that we install in our browsers and it does not matter which one we are using.
