Our Android phones have already become true pocket computers, and as such they function quite similar to these. The Internet era brought us the term downloads , which brings together all those files and content that we download from the Internet. But it is not always clear where these downloads can be accessed, so that they can be opened or shared.
Although each mobile is a world, the reality is that if there is something similar in all of them, it is the location of the downloads. These are usually always found in the same storage path, at least by default, although each manufacturer has an application that gives us direct access to that folder that brings together all downloads.
Where do the downloads go?
Normally when we download a file, there is the possibility of opening it by default. Be it an image, a compressed document, or any other type of data, the reality is that all this is downloaded into the internal memory of our phone, within a common address. If when downloading the content we open it directly, the truth is that what we have downloaded will continue to be available in the internal storage of our phone, until we access it directly to retrieve it.
The common directory with which we can access these downloads on any mobile phone is the same in everything, since it is a default folder in the Google system, the address where these downloads are saved is one of the following two:
- / sdcard / download
Therefore, it is as simple as opening a file explorer on our phone and accessing that route to see all the downloads we have on the phone to be able to do whatever we want with them. But, although the address is the same, we do not always use the same methods depending on the phone.
According to the mobile you have
Motorola
In the phones of the Chinese firm we need to use the file explorer that comes by default with the phone, which is Files by Google . Once we open we have direct access to the phone downloads, and from there we will be able to see everything we have downloaded from the browser.
Realme
In these phones we have a native app of the firm. This is called “A file manager” , and it allows us to access the downloads in two different ways. Once we are inside the app we have a direct access to the downloads, which takes us to them.
And secondly, at the bottom of the file manager screen, we can click on “Phone storage” which gives us access to the root directory of this. Once inside you just have to slide to the “Download” folder.
Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco
These three brands offer us the MIUI layer by default, and it is also very easy to access these downloads. In this case, in the application drawer we have an application called ” File manager ” that gives us access to these downloads. Once inside we must click on the blue “Downloads” icon.
Once we press we go to another screen where all the downloads we have made from the web browser appear. The blue brush icon at the bottom right allows us to erase all downloads in one fell swoop.
Samsung
In the case of Korean brand phones, we can access directly through the ” My files ” app that we find in the application drawer, which is the default file browser on Samsung phones.
Within this app we also have a blue downloads icon, which gives us access to them quickly.
Huawei
In these phones we also have a simple way to access the downloads. It is through the ” Files ” app that we find in the application drawer.
Once we are inside we must click on “Internal memory” within “Categories” and inside it access the “Downloads” folder which is the one created by the default browser to save these downloads.
From the browser itself
Another alternative to access mobile downloads is from the browser from which we have done it. Normally in the configuration options of this we can access a section dedicated to downloads, which somehow leads us to that same folder, but from the application that is responsible for making the downloads. Whether Chrome, Firefox or a different one, we will always have the same direct access to downloads from the browser.
In any case, as you can see, the options are several, although in most mobiles they are practically identical, we always have the option of doing it from the default file explorer or the browser, it is not difficult to access this important information from our phone.
