No. Like previous expansions of the game, this Warlords of New York is an expansion that you must purchase separately once you have the game. If at this point you have not yet played The Division 2 , it is an excellent opportunity to acquire the game along with the expansion. What story presents the expansion?
The plot now places us in lower Manhattan, where we will have to hunt down Aaron Keener, a former agent of The Division who now seems to carry his own rules. The map that we will have to explore belongs to an old dark area in which the dark aesthetics of buildings demolished by the passage of a devastating hurricane will draw attention.

The game places us 8 months after the first The Division, and in it we can explore four new areas replicated on a real scale, such as the neighborhoods of Two Bridges and Civic Center, Battery Park and the Financial District. Visiting these neighborhoods we can capture the renegade agents who work for Keener, who will give us the special skills they have when we defeat them. So we can improve our character until the final battle with the boss.
Much more than just a story
As if that were not enough, at the end of the new campaign, we will reach character level 40 and unlock the seasons, a series of temporary events that will begin a week after the release of Warlords of New York and will last 3 months. In them we will have the opportunity to know the history of other renegades through the so-called Hunting.
In addition to this, multiplayer events will be included worldwide, created leagues and global challenges that will increase competitiveness among players beyond the dark zone.

The Division’s development team has been taking note of all the requests that came from the user community, so this new expansion has also served to introduce global changes throughout the game. The RPG system has been completely designed so that players can read and manage inventory more easily and quickly. The interface will now always show the statistical meters of each weapon, with more logical recalibration systems and displaying information such as object utility indicators, permanent attributes and storage statistics at the recalibration station.
The Division 2 and the Warlords of New York expansion arrive in Stadia
Another important news of the launch of this expansion is that Ubisoft has confirmed the landing of the game and the expansion to the streaming game service of Google, Stadia, so those subscribers of the service can play it remotely from 17 March.
