When we hear about the Adobe program, Photoshop , we directly relate it to everything that has to do with photo editing. However, at the same time here we find some powerful tools related to working with texts, as we will see.
And it is necessary to take into account that these text elements are sometimes an important part of our projects here. Therefore, just as we know most of the tools and functions to work with photos, those related to these elements should also be mastered, at least in part. This will allow us to most effectively integrate these character elements into our photo editing projects .
How to use the Type tool in Photoshop
In order to get the most out of this functionality that we are mentioning, the first thing we do is work in a conventional way with the photo in question. Once we are ready to add texts to the composition , in the toolbar generally located on the left side of the interface , we see a shortcut with a capital T. At the same time we can activate this specific tool by clicking the key with the same name, T.
Next, we just have to click anywhere on the image to start typing the piece of text we want to include. In addition, at that moment a series of drop- down lists will appear at the top of the Photoshop interface. As is usual with the program’s tools , these lists of options allow us to fully customize the use of the function as such. In the case at hand we will have the possibility to change the font of the text, its size , color , shape, orientation and more.
We can modify these parameters both at the time we add the corresponding characters, and later. In the future, it is enough that we select that text after clicking on the tool button, and modify its values according to what we need. This will allow us to have maximum control over the content that we are adding to the image at that moment. But now we are going to see how we can achieve a curved text to give it an added attraction.
Make the texts of the images curved
At this point and if we want to give a more attractive appearance to those texts with which we work in Photoshop, the program allows us to easily make them curved . In the options bar, once the tool has been selected, which we find in the upper part of the work desk, on the right we see a button also represented by a T. The difference is that in this case we also find a curved line that forms part of this shortcut .
At that moment a new window will appear that allows us to configure the appearance of the curvature that we are going to integrate into that text. From the section called Style we are going to find the different designs that we can apply in this function to curve texts.
But that is not all, since we also find other very interesting parameters to customize this curvature that we are talking about. For example, we will have the possibility to establish an intensity percentage , as well as the horizontal and vertical distortion of the text’s curvature. We change all this through sliders. Thus, the modifications are carried out in real time so that we can get an idea of the final result.
