Our Samsung Galaxy has a good handful of applications installed by default. The OneUI layer of the Koreans is in charge of giving us several tools that we can use more or less. To these we must add the whole string of third-party applications that we will install ourselves, which will make it easy for us to join dozens and dozens of applications on our mobile phones.
It is clear that not all applications are opened with the same frequency. It is not the same to consult WhatsApp daily, than to open the bank application or the one designed to order our favorite fast food. However, running more or less frequently , these apps can consume resources equally , while still anchored in the background. Closing them occasionally through the process window may be a solution, but it is not efficient in the long run.
“Deactivate unused applications”
Having granted the appropriate permissions, we may not have opened an app for more than a month, but it can run at startup, consume RAM as a secondary process and weigh down our battery life. Luckily, Samsung has thought of a smart function to control the apps that we use the least and don’t consume resources.
This is the “Deactivate unused applications” function. Its objective is to deactivate applications that have not been used in 30 days, so that they do not run as secondary processes in the system, and avoid consuming RAM and battery.
How to activate the function
In order to activate the function we will have to slide up to access the applications panel. Then we tap on “Settings” and go to the bottom until we find the “Device Care” function. Once inside we will have to tap on “Drums” and then select on the three points in the upper right. Once done, all you have to do is tap on “Settings” and we’ll tap on the ” Deactivate unused applications ” switch so that the function is activated.
Your best complement
This function makes a lot of sense if we combine it with the one we found just above and which is called “Suspend unused applications”. This means that we will not leave any room for those apps that we do not use to consume any resources. Once they stop being used, they will be suspended, which does not imply that they stop consuming resources completely, since they can continue to be charged at system startup , but it will also improve performance and battery life.
