We have to admit that in our review of the AirPods Max we did not find technical problems in these headphones, however it seems that there are quite a few users annoyed with the management that these do of their battery. This has been transferred to various specialized forums such as those echoed by MacRumors and thus we have also been able to verify it through other threads and social networks. Why is this problem occurring? We analyze it.
Excessive consumption of AirPods Max
At the time there was controversy with the non-existence of a button that allowed to turn off the AirPods Max, since it really cannot be done, but they enter a mode of increasingly low consumption. However, the current complaint is not derived from this, since what the users of these headphones mainly claim is to be able to enjoy greater autonomy from the headphones when they are consuming content with them. According to Apple, the autonomy should be enough to reproduce up to 20 hours of uninterrupted sound, but it seems that in many cases that point is not reached.
If the headphones have been on the market for a long time and the users who claim had a long experience with them, we could say that it is due to an obvious and natural deterioration of the battery, but it is not the case. The AirPods Max were launched in December and although it must be said that it needs a few days of calibration like any device, in the end this does not seem to be the reason. It is also striking that, from what they say, excessive consumption occurs with all types of reproductions: high quality music, medium quality, movies, videos …
The good news about it
Although at a general level there are no problems that Apple has even had to acknowledge, it is evident that with the handful of complaints that exist, it is already more than enough to think that something is not right. Keep in mind that the first units of devices like these are more likely to suffer some kind of problem. In the worst cases, Apple will take care of the replacement covered by the warranty , since the problems should not be due to misuse by the user. On the other hand they would make sure that the next batches of AirPods Max do not have that problem with battery consumption.
Last but not least, it is quite possible that a future firmware update will completely solve the problems. From what is said, it does not seem that it is a construction fault of the headphones or not at least in most cases, so the remaining possibility focuses on poor management at the programming level.
