Comparison of the Samsung Galaxy M31 vs the Galaxy M51

Samsung‘s mid-range is more competitive than ever. Despite having been the top mobile seller on the market for several years, Samsung’s mid-range was not the most competent. But with new ranges like the M that has changed. Today we compare the Samsung Galaxy M31 versus the Galaxy M51 to find out which one suits us better.

Samsung Galaxy M31 vs the Galaxy M51

We are facing two mobiles that stand out for different aspects, but which have unique characteristics as a common denominator, only available to more premium devices, and higher ranges, also boasting excellent finishes.

Screen and dimensions

We are facing two phones that at the design level offer us very similar characteristics, so much so that we have a very similar camera module, although there are important differences in size and screen. In the M31 we have a 6.4-inch screen , with Super AMOLED technology and Full HD + resolution, which has a notch in the shape of a drop of water.

Both have 6GB RAM, while the M31 has 64GB internal storage and the M51 128GB, in both cases expandable via microSD cards. Therefore, they are two well-equipped mobiles, although of course there is a performance plus in the M51.

They also both have a 5 megapixel macro sensor and a 5 megapixel depth sensor. The big difference is in the ultra wide angle, which is 8 megapixels on the M31 and 12 megapixels on the M51. In front, the cameras are the same, 32 megapixels in both cases.

Battery and connectivity

Here we are perhaps before two of the mobiles with the most battery on the market, since it is an aspect in which they stand out from practically all of their competition. On the one hand we have the M31 with a huge 6000mAh battery , compatible with 15W fast charging. If its capacity already seems brutal, that of the M51 is already simply spectacular, because it has a battery with no less than 7000mAh . It also charges faster, thanks to a 25W charge, which fully charges the mobile in 115 minutes.

Both have NFC to make mobile payments, with a USB type C connector, as well as Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The M31 has a classic fingerprint reader on the back, while the M51 has it on the side, on the power button. Both have Android 10 and One Ui 2.0, although the M31 has become the first to receive One UI 3.0 with Android 11.

Price and conclusion

Today we are not really comparing these mobiles to tell you which is the best buy, because we are talking about their prices being very different. But we do want it to be easier to differentiate what characterizes one mobile and another. The Samsung Galaxy M31 can currently be bought for a 205 euros deal , while the Samsung Galaxy M51 can be bought for 389 euros , so it costs almost double. Taking this into account and the characteristics of both phones, it is evident that the M31 is a mobile that is more worth buying, because it has many of the things that characterize the M51.

It has a Super AMOLED screen, practically the same cameras behind and in front, as well as one of the most capable batteries on the market, and almost as large as that of its range partner. The M51 for its part stands out for a larger screen, a more powerful processor, a camera that better the wide angle, and a huge battery, but little more than that of its companion. Therefore, the price difference is very high , while those that exist at a technical level are irrelevant for day-to-day use of the phone.
