The mid-range has undoubtedly become the great battlefield between the main mobile manufacturers. It is where the bulk of sales take place, especially since they increasingly offer better specifications for a tighter price. This is the case of the Samsung Galaxy A21s and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 .

We are facing two of the best-selling phones in the mid-range, in fact the Samsung is the best-selling in the range of the Korean firm in recent months, so it will have to have something to hook users.
Screen and dimensions
We are facing two terminals of similar size, in the case of the Redmi with a 6.53-inch screen and Full HD + resolution . While the Samsung is quite similar in size, with 6.5 inches although with less resolution, in this case HD + .

The two screens have a hole in the corner. The dimensions of the Redmi are 162.3 x 77.2 x 8.9 mm and it weighs 199 grams, while the Samsung measures 163.7 x 75.3 x 8.9 mm and its weight is 192 grams.

Performance and memory
Here each one has a different processor, the Redmi with the MediaTek Helio G85 , manufactured in 12nm , and the Samsung an Exynos 850 , manufactured in 8nm . Both have similar performance, although that of the Koreans is more efficient.

The RAM memory available in the versions we have looked at is 3GB in both phones. In storage the Redmi has 64GB and the Samsung 32GB , in both cases expandable via microSD cards.

Photo camera
Here we also have quite a bit of equality, with quad cameras in both cases . They also have the same sensor configuration , starting from the main one of 48 megapixels, which is accompanied by an 8 megapixel ultra wide angle, 2 megapixel macro and another 2 megapixel deep.

In front, within their respective screen holes, there are 13 megapixel cameras in both cases, so that equality in this aspect is maximum. Something that also happens with the battery.

Battery and connectivity
Both have a 5000mAh battery , in the case of the Redmi with 18W fast charging, and in the Samsung 15W. Both have a USB type C connector, NFC to make mobile payments, Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac.

The fingerprint reader of both is placed behind, and in the case of Xiaomi we also have FM Radio , as well as an infrared port. The Redmi has Android 10 under the MIUI 11 layer, while the Samsung also enjoys Android 10 in this case under the One UI 2.0 layer.

Price and conclusion
Undoubtedly they are two phones with a fairly similar price, although in this case there are some factors that are determining to opt for the Redmi Note 9. As are its screen with more resolution, and double the internal storage, taking into account its price of 179 euros.
In the case of the Samsung Galaxy A21s we have a mobile with a processor made in a more modern technology, but we have less storage and only HD + resolution, although it is somewhat cheaper, and we can buy it for 163 euros. A priori it is better to buy the Redmi , because the resolution factor is decisive. However, Samsung is also a great choice, especially since we are talking about one of the premium brands par excellence.
