The most accessible mid-range is more disputed than ever, something that users benefit from more and more. A good example of this are the two phones that we face today, which are the Nokia 2.4 and Redmi 9C , two really interesting terminals that we can buy at very reasonable prices.
Nokia has recently launched one of its cheapest models in Spain, a phone that will have its main opponents in Chinese mobiles, such as the Redmi terminal that we are facing today, two phones to take into account due to its adjusted price.
Screen and dimensions
We are facing two phones with very similar dimensions and screens. In the case of the Nokia it is 6.5 inches, and in the Redmi it is 6.53 inches . In both cases they have HD + resolution.
Both also have a notch in the shape of a drop of water. Therefore these screens are practically two drops of water. In the case of dimensions and weight, they are also similar, with 165.9 x 76.3 x 8.7 mm and a weight of 195 grams for the Nokia, and 164.9 x 77 x 9 mm with a weight of 196 grams for the Xiaomi. Therefore, they are two phones that in this regard offer us similar functionality.
Performance and memory
Here we have two MediaTek processors, in the Nokia a Helio P22 and in the Xiaomi a Helio G35 , the former being somewhat faster than the latter, so there is an advantage for the Redmi.
In both there is 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The two expandable via microSD cards. Another aspect in which there is maximum equality.
Here there are more differences, in this case in favor of the Redmi, which has a triple camera , with sensors of 13 megapixels, 2 megapixels macro and 2 megapixels deep.
For its part, the Nokia has a double camera, the same as the Redmi, except that it does not have a macro sensor. Both have a 5 megapixel camera in front, so they are not cameras to throw the bells on the fly, although they are certainly more than enough for most users.
Battery and connectivity
In this aspect, the Redmi is again ahead , which has a 5000mAh battery , with a 10W charge. In the case of the Nokia we have a 4500 mAh, a good capacity, although not as much as that of its rival.
Both have a micro USB connector, as well as Bluetooth 5.0 and Wifi b / g / n. They also have FM Radio, as well as a fingerprint reader on the back. Regarding the software, the Nokia comes with Android 10, in its Android One mode, while the Redmi has Android 10 under MIUI 12. In both cases they will receive Android 11 in the future.
Price and conclusion
We are facing two quite cheap mobiles, the Nokia 2.4 we can buy for about 139 euros, while the Redmi 9C costs 149 euros . Ten euros of difference that in the case of the Redmi they offer us one more camera, with a macro sensor, as well as a larger battery.
The Nokia for its part with a lower price offers us a somewhat more powerful performance. Therefore, they are very similar phones, although we believe that the Redmi offers a more rounded proposal , standing out in some key aspects. However, if you do not want to invest those ten euros more, the Nokia is an excellent mobile, and has little to envy the Redmi.
