ColorOS 13 will arrive very soon: OPPO phones and news

Last week it was the turn of OnePlus, who presented the new version of its layer known as OxygenOS 13. Now it is OPPO that is preparing to carry out the presentation of the ColorOS 13 update and it is expected that it will have many things in common with his partner.

This is good news for users of the Chinese brand, as the deployment of the public beta based on Android 13 will soon begin. So those who have a high-end company in their hands are quite likely to be able to enjoy the new features of the system.

ColorOS 13 just around the corner

It has been OPPO itself who has made this announcement official, confirming that on August 18 we will see a first look at what ColorOS 13 means for its smartphones. According to reports, this version is based on the new Android patch and will add “underlying security and privacy features” along with aesthetic improvements from Material You, which we already know a lot about.

Likewise, the company has ensured a renewal in the general design of the interface to offer a different experience to all the previous ones and that they call “concise, comfortable and smooth”. This is something that reminds us a lot of what we saw in OxygenOS 13 with that “aquamorphic” appearance that OnePlus mentioned and that they defined as “relaxing, natural and versatile.

For its part, OPPO has not given many more details about this update of the ColorOS 13 layer, but we can get a rough idea of the first mobiles to get the new version . The most likely thing is that both the OPPO Find N foldable and the top-of-the-range OPPO Find X5 Pro will be the ones chosen to deploy the patch, since they were the only ones to be part of the Android 13 beta test.

According to the colleagues at 91Mobiles, the new OPPO Reno 8 family , which is already on the way, will also participate in this update in the short term. However, it is unknown for sure if this is real and when it would come if it were true.

What we expect from the update

At the moment the only information about ColorOS 13 comes from leaks, so we can’t take anything for granted. However, there are more reliable sources than others and some have published images of the beta of this update, where some changes can be seen.

These screenshots show what’s new with the customization layer folders and widgets . First of all, the folders will be modifiable in terms of size so as not to even have to access it to open an application, as well as place them anywhere on the screen, as we have seen previously in iOS and recently in OnePlus with OxygenOS 13.

The leaks also point out that the widget support will be greater and will enjoy more compatibility. Not to mention that the control center will undergo changes to be more simple, manageable and intuitive for users. More aspects are unknown so far, but it would not be surprising if part of the news that OxygenOS 13 brings has to do with ColorOS 13.
