During the course of the Cold War campaign we were able to discover more than one arcade arcade machine hidden by the missions that allowed us to play Activision classics related to many years old platform launches, such as Atari. As a wink, the developers hid classics to play them for a few moments, however, now they have decided to offer them in full so that you can play them whenever you want.
Arcade games in Cold War

At this point we are not going to discover Activision’s incredible trajectory in the world of video games. Maybe that’s why the developers of Cold War wanted to offer a sympathetic tribute to the company including many of the great games that led to stardom. These games were hidden in many of the missions of the campaign, and they were hidden in arcade machines that we were finding along the way.
But the experience of playing those classics stayed there, so with the idea that users can enjoy them whenever they want, Treyarch have decided to unlock all retro games and place them in a section of the game menu. But where exactly are they? What games can we play?
Retro games hidden in Cold War
The games that we can play are the following:
Barnstorming
A peculiar airplane game in which we pilot a biplane with which we must cross under barns while avoiding birds and windmills. Its creator decided to bring the game to life after seeing a biplane flying while driving home.
Boxing
As its title indicates (in those years the names of the games were not particularly complicated), this is a boxing game in which two players, black and white, exchange left and right blows. The more hits, the more points.
Chopper Command
A spectacular horizontal scroll shooter that surprised back in 1982 with its control and the incorporation of a radar that anticipated the presence of enemies on the screen.
Enduro
Racing game that surprised by offering a cycle from day to night. The graphics back then weren’t much of a thing (more than a car looks like a spoon), but its difficulty and originality hooked a lot of players.
Fishing Derby
A peculiar fishing game in which two players must catch as many fish as possible while avoiding that a nearby shark steals their catch.
Grand prix
Another racing game that in this case featured a horizontal scroll in which we had to dodge the opposing vehicles and the oil puddles that flooded the track.
Kaboom!
This title was played with a paddle controller (also known as a spinner) and we had to capture the bombs that a thief threw at us from the top of the screen. If we miss some of the bombs, we will lose one of the three available cubes, ending the game when we finally run out of them.
Pitfall
One of the great classics of Activision. It managed to succeed with a large number of sales around the world (millions), and was characterized by offering a very striking platform system in which to avoid obstacles using lianas and find hidden treasures in the jungle with which to increase our score.
Pitfall II: Lost Caverns
The success of the first installment was such that Activision were animated with a second part in which to continue enjoying the adventures of Pitfall Harry.
River raid
This vertical shooter takes us to pilot a fighter from left to right while accelerating or reducing speed, at the same time that we destroy enemy helicopters and ships. And don’t forget the fuel! You could run out of enough to reach the end of the game.
How can I play these games in Cold War?

To access this peculiar collection of Atari 2600 games, we will only have to go to the Cold War multiplayer and access the Barracks tab . With the arrival of Season 3, a new option called ” Recreation Room ” has been included where you will find all the games mentioned above. Enjoy the arcade world!
