However, it may be that, either because we use the browser on a public site or because we share it with other people, we do not want our downloads to be visible.
And is that the download history is a function that is included by default in any web browser. This function will not serve so that we can have a record of all the elements that we download from the Internet in the browser. This includes all types of files such as images, videos, programs and documents, among others.
Accessing the download history of our browser and deleting the record of files that we have downloaded is a simple task that can be performed by any type of user. That is why today we are going to show you how we can do it in the main browsers and the most used ones such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera, Vivaldi and Opera.
Delete Chrome download history
If we use Google Chrome and we do not want anyone who has access to our computer to see our download history, we can delete it quickly and in this way preserve our privacy.
To delete Chrome’s download history, just click on the three buttons in the upper right, so that the menu opens and we select the “Downloads” section. We can also access it through the keyboard shortcut “Ctrl + J”. Now the “Downloads” page will appear, with all the downloads ordered by date. We can then delete a particular download or the entire download list at once.
To delete a particular download , simply click on the “X” symbol to the right of each download. If what we want is to delete all the downloads , we must click on the three buttons on the upper right and then select “Delete all”.
Delete Firefox download history
Firefox users also have the ability to clear their download history whenever they need it, and the process is also very quick to perform.
To delete the Firefox download history, just press the “Downloads” button on the toolbar and a window will open where the latest downloads appear. At the bottom, click on “Show all downloads” and a new window will appear.
In the new window we will see all the downloads that we have made from the browser. From here we can select whether to delete downloads individually or to do a complete cleaning. To delete individually, just right-click on the download and click “Delete from history”. If what we want is to delete all the downloads at the same time (completed, canceled and failed), just press the “Clear downloads” button at the top of the window.

The Microsoft browser also allows us the possibility of improving our privacy by eliminating all the downloads that we have made from the Edge browser.
To clear the download history in Edge, just open the browser and click on the three buttons that appear in the upper right part of the browser (Settings and more). A drop-down menu will open where we must select the “Downloads” section. We can also access it through a keyboard shortcut by pressing the “Ctrl + J” keys.
Next, a new window will appear in the browser with all the downloaded files. On the left side we can filter the files by categories: PDF, Documents, Applications, Images, Compressed files, Videos, Audio and Others. If we want to delete a file individually, just click on the “X” symbol that appears to the right of the file. To delete all the files at once, just click on the “Delete all” tab at the top.

The popular Opera browser has among its options the possibility of eliminating any download we make, either individually or deleting everything with a single click.
To do this we must enter the browser and click on the “Menu” tab, which we find in the upper left . Next, a drop-down menu will open where we must select the “Downloads” option, so that a new tab will open with all the downloads we have made from the browser.
In the left column we can filter the downloads made per day. While in the upper part of the central panel we can filter them by categories: Documents, Images, Videos, Music and Others. To delete a download individually, just click on the three points on the right side of the download and then select “Delete”. If what we want is to delete all the downloads at once, we must click on the “Clean downloads” button that we will find in the upper right part.

One of the most popular browsers in recent years is Vivaldi, which also allows us to keep our security safe, giving the possibility of deleting the downloads made, either individually or in general.
In order to delete the downloads, it will be necessary to open the browser and click on the “Downloads” icon in the left column (the second one from the top), which will display a side menu. In this menu we can see all the downloads ordered by start date , and at the bottom they show us data such as the speed at which the download was made, the website, the path where it was stored and the date.
To delete a download individually, simply click on it with the right button and press the “Delete” option. If what we want is to delete all the downloads at the same time, we carry out the same operation, but this time we select the option “Delete all the finished ones”.
Delete Safari download history
Apple‘s popular browser also has its own version for Windows. Therefore, if we use it to download files from the Internet, it also allows us to clean all the downloads made.
To do this, we must start the browser and then click on the nut-shaped icon in the upper right, so that a drop-down menu is not opened, where we must select the “Downloads” option. Next, a floating window will appear with all the downloads made from the browser.
To be able to delete a download individually, just click on the right button on it and click on “Remove from list”. If, on the other hand, what we want is to delete all the downloads made, just press the “Delete” button that we find in the lower left part of the “Downloads” window.
