It is strange that Apple launches two betas of the same operating system in the same week, but that it also does it with the same beta is even more so. Although there are some precedents, you have to go back many years for this. The company launched the beta 1 of iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 among others on Tuesday and yesterday it relaunched the same betas . We analyze the possible reasons below.
Why weren’t the second betas?
Before each official update that ends up reaching the end user, Apple is launching different betas of the same version to receive feedback from the developers with the firm objective of polishing any errors, optimizing resources as much as possible and offering a better user experience when it is ends this period. The time that separates each beta is usually 1 or 2 weeks and always going from beta 1 to beta 2 and so on. Hence, it is strange that the versions released yesterday were still first betas and not second.
The truth is that official data about this movement have not been disclosed and it is not remembered that there has been a generalized bug serious enough for the company to urgently rectify this version. Remember that you can install a beta on iPhone or iPad even without being a developer, although you must bear in mind that there is a risk of instability because it is not yet a final version.
At the moment there is no known date on which these versions will reach the end user, although taking into account what was set by Apple on previous occasions we can guess that it will arrive in the middle of March .
