Mobile phones have one of the most important elements in their memory or storage. This is where all system files are stored, so when errors appear, the overall performance of the entire mobile can be adversely affected. For this reason we are going to take a look at how to solve these problems when they occur in Samsung mobiles.

The vast majority of problems related to the memory of our mobile are related to the lack of space, although there are also other factors that can affect such as microSD cards or even malicious applications. In any case, slowness or inability to install applications are some of the most common symptoms that something is wrong.
Free memory
When the device runs out of memory, error messages begin to appear, with applications stopping , some installed that cannot be updated, and general system slowness. It is very important to free memory as soon as possible so that everything works normally again. To achieve this we have several options.
- From device care : we enter settings / device care / storage and click on Release. After a few seconds we will have recovered memory at least to be able to operate without errors, while we continue to free more space
- Delete unnecessary apps: delete all those applications that we no longer use
- Use Samsung Cloud or other cloud services : All users of a Samsung Galaxy have at least 15 GB of free cloud storage, which may be more depending on the model. Likewise, Google Photos or Amazon Prime Photos can be alternative options to upload files such as photos or videos to the cloud and free up the mobile memory

Use Samsung Members
This application, which is installed as standard on Samsung mobiles and also available on Google Play, allows us to verify the status of our device with a simple diagnosis and help in real time. The checkup will check the hardware for problems and suggest the best solutions. So in case of finding a problem with memory, we can proceed to solve it. We will only have to enter the app, click on the diagnostic section and start the hardware test, which will take a few minutes.
It can be the microSD
The microSD card can be a salvation or one of our worst enemies. It is an external and physical item that can very easily get damaged or corrupt your files. It may also be that its capacity is not compatible with our Galaxy or that we have bought a Chinese memory with “fake” capacity that does not offer the promised real storage, so the bugs will not take long to appear. We can still see if the problems go away with these tests:
- Try removing the microSD card
- Insert a different microSD
- Format and try again with the microSD that we have

Safe way to get out of doubt
Safe Mode is often the definitive solution, in this case to know if any app (malicious or not) is interfering with the correct performance of the memory of our terminal. If when entering this mode everything works correctly, we must delete applications, from the most recent to the oldest , and repeat the process to see if the problem disappears.

In order to activate Safe Mode we must first turn off the mobile completely . Then, we press the power key and lower the volume at the same time, until the mobile is turned on. When the computer has started correctly we will see the message “Safe Mode” in the lower left part of the screen.
Hard Reset as a final solution
If all of the above fails, it is possible that returning the mobile to factory settings will fix the memory errors. Over time, our mobile is filling up with unnecessary, residual and corrupt files, which the system may not eliminate, with which failures become more and more frequent. Returning the mobile to its original state is possibly the best solution when all of the above fails . To do this we will have to save the important files and follow the following steps:
- We turn off our Galaxy by holding down the power button and touching turn off.
- Once off, press the power button and turn up the volume for several seconds until we see the Samsung logo.
- Within the menu that appears, we will move with the volume up and down keys, accepting with the power button.
- We place ourselves on the option “Wipe data / Factory reset” and accept with the power button.
- Then we place ourselves on “Yes” and accept.
- Finally we choose “Reboot system now”.
