A few days ago the beta version of Android Auto 8.0 began to be deployed and now the final version does so. This means that it is a matter of hours before we can update this tool from Google Play on our smartphone and we find the renewed version.
However, all those who are already lucky enough to update this version are encountering many disappointments, since the news that we were all waiting for has not been integrated. A sensation that is repeated, as has happened so many times with the connection service between the car and the mobile.
The new design will have to wait
For months there has been talk of the Coolwalk aesthetic , which will make using the phone in the car much more comfortable and practical. This, however, has not arrived for the moment with version 8.0, which everyone was pointing to and, therefore, has caused us a disappointment.
Although this is not here, since the update basically serves to apply corrections and small internal improvements . In our eyes, there are no substantial changes that make us change the relationship we have with the system.
The only hope we have left is that Google, as it has done before, implements the Android Auto update and later I changed the design. Remotely, the company has the ability to apply the changes, something that can even be achieved right now through complex tricks that require us to have the terminal rooted, so we do not recommend it.
Android 13 will have the key
At the Google I/O event where the step forward for Android Auto was unveiled, to better adapt to cars and their screens, the relevance of this change was widely mentioned. During this we could see that the division into three panels will be key, thus allowing the system to adapt to all cars, since each one has a different screen from the previous one, which does not happen so overwhelmingly in smartphones, as least until the folding ones have arrived.
On one side will be the map or the main multimedia content where Google Maps will be the spearhead , on the other the quick access section where we will see the clock or the weather and of course the music control. The third section will be dedicated to quick access or notifications, as we can see in the following video that Google showed us, where the changes are for the better.
Now that we know Android 13, we can see many more references in that video with what we will have in Coolwalk for Android Auto. This leads us to imagine that sooner or later, but very soon, we will have the renewed design at our fingertips.
For now, the only thing we can do is recommend that you update Android Auto on your mobile phone, so that, if from one day to the next, the American company decides to activate the change in aesthetics , you already have it in your hands and can take advantage of it.
