There are several Pixel 6 users who have noticed how their mobile battery discharges faster or experiences high battery consumption after updating to the new Android 13 operating system. Other user complaints are focused on wireless charging and RCS, although nothing that magazine special gravity.
Android has recently added the new stable version of its operating system, now available for download and testing on certain devices. There are several users who have been able to test it, although the first complaints about battery, charging and other minor errors have already begun. Many users of the Pixel 6 model who have updated to the new operating system have reported much higher consumption when they are using it. Obviously, they did not have this problem before.

What’s happening?
The new operating system that comes with many important changes for users, already available on Pixel phones from Pixel 4, has created great expectation. In fact, there are many users of other phones who are waiting for it to arrive on their device.
Those who have a Pixel 6, who are not happy with its battery performance, have been out of luck so far. Among their complaints, they say that they have to charge their phones several times during the day when this did not happen to them in Android 12.

Although the usual thing is that this can happen after a recent update, the battery usually returns to normal after a few days. This is not the case with the Pixel 6 , which has tried to wait and several other solutions without success.
Among the complaints of users in the Google support forum we find this:
Since I updated to Android 13, my battery life settings say there are about 12 hours left from a full charge. If I do anything on my phone, it slows down drastically and the battery drains very quickly . Struggling to make it to 3pm without worrying about having to charge.
Another outraged user says:
I experienced the same thing…since the update to Android 13 my pixel 6 battery drains much faster even if I don’t use the phone …really disappointing…battery life isn’t even mediocre anymore…
Pixel Pro users are not exempt from it:
Same here, after the update to Android 13 on the Pixel 6 Pro, the battery drains twice as fast, especially on standby.
There are also users who have voiced their complaints on Twitter , such as one who claims this:
Seeing this every day now, with the Android 13 update on my Pixel 6. The battery drain and heat are unreal. The last major update killed my phone’s signal, this time the battery!

No statement from Google
It seems that this would only affect users of the Pixel 6 , since there are no reports that this may be happening in other models that have already received the update, such as the Pixel 5 or the Pixel 4. We will have to wait for anyway to know if it is happening in other mobiles or what happens when it is implemented at a general level. If anything, it’s a big enough bug for Google to act quickly.
It is a stable version that should not bring many bugs and battery life is an issue that many mobile users are concerned about. For now, Google has not made any statements in this regard, nor are we aware that it knows what is happening. We hope that the company will officially rule on this issue and give it a solution as soon as possible. It may be that it will do so in the next security patch in September, although we do not know if that will be the case.
Meanwhile, users who have not updated may not do so until Google fixes what is happening with the Pixel 6 batteries. If you have this phone and have not updated , it is best to wait and see what happens in the next few days and keep track of the evolution of this error. If you have, try to see if it is something temporary by waiting a few days, restart and if you see it necessary, go back to the previous version.
