This year there are a couple of companies, dependent on the same business conglomerate, that are taking the lead in bringing Google’s latest operating system to their customers. We are talking about OPPO and OnePlus, two of the manufacturers that are soon updating their phones with Android 11 .
Last year, OPPO brought ColorOS 7 (based on Android 10) to 29 devices in its catalog, and this time the number of lucky ones is expanded to 33 devices who will be able to test the news of ColorOS 11, the version of the operating system based on Android 11 firm.
Great news for OPPO Find X2 owners
OPPO has started rolling out the final version of ColorOS 11 , the update based on the latest Google software for its Find X2 series. After going through a short beta period, the first versions of mobiles have started to report on the availability of the software. Users based in Switzerland, Germany and the United Kingdom are among those who have confirmed the arrival of the OTA update, but it seems that it will soon reach more regions.
As always, if you haven’t received the new firmware update notice yet, you can try to force a manual update from the Settings> Downloads and updates menu. If you do not find any warning, you can try to clear the cache and try again but if it still does not appear, calm, it should not take too long.
Android 11 improvements for OPPO mobiles
Among the different improvements that this update brings, we find a dark mode that is more customizable, offering multiple color schemes as well as new Always ON screen options similar to the one recently seen on the OnePlus 8T. A new energy saving mode “Super Power Saving” is also released which reduces screen consumption to a minimum along with other resources. If used with 5% battery, OPPO says it adds an hour of talk time.
Android 11 for the OPPO Find X2 also integrates an instant translation function based on Google Lens, which is accessed by taking a screenshot with 3 fingers and swiping up. Flexdrop allows any application to be reduced to a floating window, which makes it easier to carry out multiple tasks, while the Private System function allows us to work with two different scenarios.
At the personalization level, among the novelties of ColorOS 11 we find the creation of dynamic ringtones and the possibility of customizing the colors of the system or using smart wallpapers.
