The question is not whether or not your mobile will run out of storage memory, the question is when it will happen. The storage of our mobile, even if we have the support of a memory card, is limited, so sooner or later we will have to do a good cleaning. There are users who can keep this maintenance up to date, and others leave it for later or to the limit when the system cannot take any more and does not allow to install anything else. Today we are going to see the methods we have in Motorola mobiles to free up space.

Motorola mobiles have several options to do a good cleaning job and keep the mobile up to date. The importance of having sufficient storage is not only to be able to continue installing and receiving files. Minimal storage can cause system problems, which usually translate into general slowness and application errors, which run out of capacity to access free storage.
Free up storage space on Motorola
From the Files tool
This tool allows us to perform a deep scan on our mobile, in search of old and unused files that we can delete to free up space. In order to do this we will have to enter the Files application and touch on Clean. When the process is finished, we will see a series of system suggestions that will help us get free memory. We will only have to follow the instructions on the screen to uninstall, move or delete elements.

Free memory manually
This method bypasses system automations to free up space, and requires our judgment to be able to eliminate all that is left over. To do this, we will have to open the Files application again and tap on Explore. Once done, we must touch on some of the categories: applications, images, videos etc … and we will only have to touch on Uninstall to eliminate those elements that we do not need. But we also have other tricks to free up extra space:
- Clear the cache of an application : we touch the name of the application and then touch Storage / Clear cache.
- Delete the data of an application : we touch the name of the application and then touch Storage / Free up storage space.
- Delete multimedia files and other files: we press and hold to select one or more items and then we touch on delete.
Schedule automatic deletion of photos and videos
This method helps keep storage space always up to date. In other words, we may never find ourselves with the problem of running out of a single mega. This feature is very useful for users who create backup copies of their photos and videos, and do not mind deleting them from mobile storage. With this method, we can program the automatic deletion of the copies of the internal storage of our Motorola, after 30, 60 or 90 days.

To do this we will have to enter Settings / Storage. Once inside we will touch on the storage manager and activate it. Now we touch on “Remove photos and videos” and mark the duration, between 30, 60 or 90 days. Now after that time we will have a breath of fresh air again as far as storage is concerned. Keep in mind that if we store the photos or videos on the SD card, this procedure will not delete them.
