If we are used to writing notes to remember pending tasks or data that we cannot forget, we may know that it is possible to use them on our computer. If, in addition, we would like these notes to alert us by means of an alarm, receiving a notification on the desktop, the Alarm Stickies application can be of great help to us.
Your notes with reminders thanks to Alarm Stickies
Alarm Stickies is a completely free program, without advertising or pop-up windows with a donation request, that allows us to set alarm reminders on our Windows computer. In this way, when the time comes, the note automatically jumps to the center of the screen to notify us.
With this simple notes application, we will have:
- Instant support to record a note that we will not be able to see, since it is saved in a database.
- The possibility of being notified automatically, with the date and time that was configured, of what we registered at the time.
- A practical quarterly calendar.
- Possibility of permanently registering recurring events such as birthdays, anniversaries, etc., so that we can receive alerts a few days in advance.
- A space with phone book functions with search functions.
With Alarm Stickies it is possible to receive notifications with sound (although they cannot be personalized), schedule multiple notes, use a quarterly calendar or manage the notes, showing us all the reminders in one place so that they can be modified or deleted.
Create and configure reminders with this program
The first thing to do is download Alarm Stickies for free from its website , being compatible with Windows 7/8/10. Once we download and run the program, it will be in the background in the bar at the bottom left. If we click on the icon with the right button, a list with the available options will appear. To create a note we can do it from that menu or simply by pressing the shortcut Ctrl + P. In this way, a window will appear on the screen in the form of a note where we can start writing.
In the upper left part of the note we will see in the corner a different color that can be green or purple. If it is green it means that we can write on it and from there we can move it across the screen. The note will always be visible on the screen at all times, being above other applications. If you want to delete you will have to drag it out of the screen at the bottom. To save it we will only have to move it to the right side of the screen.
Set an alarm and set its sound
If we want to set an alarm, we must press the F8 button and we can set the date and time of the reminder. Within the Alarm Stick options, we can see a list with the notes with alarm in the “List of stickies with alert” option. We can also configure its sound in the “Sound Settings” option. Here we can choose a simple or continuous sound, being possible to choose between four different types of sounds. In this way, on the scheduled day, the note will appear and will play the sound that we have chosen.
Recurring notifications
In the Alarm Stickies menu we have the possibility to set recurring notifications using the “Recurrences” option. Here we can add notifications such as birthdays, anniversary or any other event that happens on a recurring basis. It is as easy as adding a text, selecting the date, selecting if we want to receive a notification and clicking on add and delete when we no longer need it. At the bottom we can configure it to notify us the days in advance that we establish.
Calendar
Another option that we have in the Alarm Stickies menu is to have a quarterly calendar. Here we can see the notifications of each day, as well as the recurring notifications. It is also possible to create a new alarm date by clicking on the desired day. Just activate the “Quarterly Calendar” option in the options menu.
