Don’t turn on the console
The method we’re about to share for redeeming your PS Plus games each month comes with a significant advantage – you no longer need to be in close proximity to your PS5 or PS4 console. Instead, you can easily add those game releases to your library using your mobile phone, a device we all carry with us daily, checking it every few minutes. With a simple notification configuration, you can skip the hassle of turning on the console.
To begin, all you have to do is download the PS App, the official Sony PlayStation application, available on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. This app has undergone substantial improvements recently, and it goes beyond managing your PS Plus library. You’ll have the ability to connect with friends, remotely install games, and monitor all your online activity on the platform.

Add PS Plus games quickly
Once you have the application installed, the first step is to open it and, if it’s your first time, log in with your PlayStation account. Once you’re inside, locate the familiar PS Plus sign – the gold “+” symbol, which we’ve marked with an arrow in the screenshot on the left. A simple tap will do the trick.
Upon entering, you’ll find a section filled with enticing offers and new options, such as updates to the catalog of Extra and Premium games, and more. Scroll down until you come across “PlayStation Plus Games of the Month.” There, you’ll find the three games being given away in July 2023 (note that different games may appear if you access the app at other times). Let’s say we choose Alan Wake Remastered; simply tap on it to access the management screen for that title.
Within the Alan Wake Remastered page, you’ll spot a large white button that reads “Add to Library.” Click on it to initiate the process. Once it’s done, you’ll notice the option to download it to your console remotely, so by the time you get home, it’ll be ready to play.
