How to Activate the Visual Rest Mode of Your Huawei and What Is It Used for

There is no doubt that users spend more and more time glued to the screen of our mobile devices. Leading us to cause different problems, such as the so-called visual fatigue or fatigue . Fortunately, different phone companies have developed different modes or functions that help us reduce these problems. As is the case with Huawei, since the Asian manufacturer began to implement Visual Rest in its terminals.

The main objective of these tools is to allow us to rest our eyes and reduce this fatigue that usually appears due to continuous exposure to the brightness of the mobile touch panel. And although we are not fully aware, we spend many hours glued to it, whether it is checking social networks, in messaging apps, working or even enjoying movies or series. So, throughout the day, our vision will begin to suffer. This is why it is necessary to have these extra features to minimize such damage.

Eyestrain problems

These vision problems, such as fatigue, usually appear from one moment to another after a long exposure to a panel, either from a mobile device or any other. More than anything, it occurs when we make a continuous determined effort of our eyes, either by spending a lot of time using our eyes to read or by making frequent changes of focus depending on the light that the screen has.

Therefore, it is normal that as the hours go by, our eyes begin to resent and we begin to have different discomforts, that is, the so-called visual fatigue . This disorder can manifest itself after carrying out an activity with inadequate light, either with a very high brightness or, quite the opposite. In addition, in both cases we force the eye to make a greater effort, so it will arise in the same way.

However, it will also depend on the morphology of our eyes, as well as the visual habits that each user has. In addition, each person will accuse said vision problem in one way or another. But, the most frequent symptoms of this fatigue are different eye discomforts that lead to itching, stinging, dryness and tearing.

It can also lead to headaches that are usually located on the forehead or in the eye area. And they are not the only symptoms, as it can also lead to mild eyelid swelling. Likewise, it is common for a person with visual fatigue to have difficulties in focusing and have blurred vision.

Enable Huawei sleep

As we mentioned at the beginning, Huawei is one of the companies that equips its terminals with a mode that will help us reduce this problem, which they have called Visual Rest. The best of all is that it is really easy to activate, so it will not take us too long to enable it on our smartphone from the Asian manufacturer.

To do this, you just have to follow these simple steps. Although before, it should be made clear that the main purpose of this functionality is to effectively reduce blue light and adjust the phone panel to display warmer colors. What does this mean? Well, basically, with this we will be able to relieve both visual fatigue and in turn, we will be able to protect our eyes even more for the future.

After this, it is time to activate it in our terminal. To enable this tool in a Huawei terminal we can proceed in different ways, although all of them are really easy to do. First we will have to access Settings> Display and look for the Eye comfort function . Once we enter this section, we will only have to click on the switch that appears to activate it on our mobile device. Also, when enabled the Eye comfort mode icon will be displayed on the status bar.

The second method to put it in our terminal will be by sliding down the notification bar. Then, we will have to expand it again to access the shortcuts panel, being able to enable or disable this mode even more quickly and without having to investigate through the smartphone’s own settings menu.

Another advantage that this tool for Huawei phones offers us is that we can establish when it should be activated automatically. That is, it offers us the possibility to choose at what time and on what days it should be enabled by itself on our mobile device. To do this, we will have to go to Settings> Display> Eye rest> Scheduled> Start and End time.

Finally, it will give us the option to adjust the temperature of the screen in Eye comfort mode when said mode is enabled. We can adjust it thanks to the color temperature control to display colder or warmer colors. And there the possibilities that we find ourselves do not end, since Huawei offers us a series of tips to protect our eyes, such as, for example, resting our eyes for 10 minutes for every half hour of use of the terminal.

Activate Digital Balance

Another option that we can find in a Huawei mobile to avoid reaching the point of this problem will be the Digital Balance . With this functionality we can measure how much time we spend with the terminal and it also shows us the duration of use of each application individually. In this tool we also find a function similar to the previous mode, the fact of being able to establish a schedule that allows us to establish use limits for the applications, as well as a daily limit of screen time.

In order to activate said Digital Balance we have to access the Settings menu and touch on this option. Once we are inside, we will see the statistics of use of our smartphone. Likewise, if we click on the More option, we can verify the screen time and the use of a certain application during the last 24 hours or the last 7 days. We will even see the data of the frequency with which we unlock the device.

And although the main objective of Balance Digital, in addition to information, is to establish limits on the use of our mobiles. It will help us to establish a limit of use to avoid visual fatigue . To do this, we will enter the Time-of-use management option, within Digital Balance Settings. After that, click on “This is my phone” and click on “Done” to start screen time management.

Use Dark Mode

With EMUI 10, Dark Mode was already included at the system level, without having to activate it in the different apps that had this functionality. This means that all Huawei applications and menus are perfectly adapted to it. In addition, the Asian manufacturer tells us that, instead of reversing the black and white color, certain tests have been carried out to select the color gradation and contrast that best suit the human eye when we have this tool activated.

In this way, the Dark Mode will avoid extreme brightness stimulation so that we can achieve a more comfortable and immersive reading experience. Also, both EMUI 10 and MIUI 11 have their own dark mode.

And although some users may get lost looking for this option due to battery settings or advanced system settings, its activation is easier than it seems. To enable it, we will have to look first if we have a version of EMUI 10 or higher .

Then, we must enter Settings and click on Screen and Brightness. After this, we will see that the Dark Mode has its own switch, so it will be enough to press it so that we can begin to experience the new interface instantly. In the event that we want to disable it from our smartphone, we will have to follow the previous steps and leave the switch off.
