There are many ways to change the design of Android phones to suit our tastes, but one option that we always overlook is the screensaver. This option directly reminds us of computer screensavers, but in case you didn’t know, there is also the possibility of using a screensaver on Android phones that we can also customize to our liking.

The screensaver option is integrated from Android 9 onwards, having a lot to say about the customization layer. Some, like EMUI or MIUI, limit the use of the screensaver on Android, but in other cases it is about keeping it as is. The screensaver of Samsung mobile phones changes position, but it can be used in the same way that we will see in the rest of smartphones with the most popular operating system.
Activate and configure the screensaver on Android
To start taking advantage of this tool we have to go to the System Settings section. We locate the Screen section and later we will see Screensavers. From here we will be able to activate the function and configure the screensaver on Android at our whim, within its limitations, taking into account that in some cases it may have its limitations. We should not confuse it with the Always On Display mode that is only available on AMOLED screens and in this case anyone can use it.

- Current screensaver: here we can choose to use a screensaver based on Clock, colors or Photos.
- Then, we can choose the type of clock on the settings wheel or choose the folder from where the photos are taken to be shown in the screensaver and the style.
- When we start to show it: we can choose to use it whenever we lock the mobile and it stays on a surface, when charging it, both or never.
The alternative option to have screensavers
In case our Android mobile does not have the option that we have known previously, we still have the possibility of using the Android screensaver . Some Android smartphones use the Google clock, although if we don’t have it we can also get it from the Play Store . In this one, we are going to be able to use a screensaver that, although with fewer options, also allows us to use it whenever we want.

Just by accessing the mobile clock and touching the three points at the top, we will see the option to activate the Screensaver on all Android phones. In the three points but choosing settings, we can also configure the type of clock that is shown in this screensaver and the tone of black that is used. In this case we cannot choose photos or colors, so it is somewhat more limited.
