Temu Influencer vs Affiliate Program: How to Join

Which Temu program should you choose?

Program Main use What to check
Influencer Creating product content for a social audience. Channel approval, campaign brief, sample arrangements and publishing requirements.
Affiliate Sharing tracked offers through a website, deal channel or community. Accepted traffic sources, eligible referrals, qualified orders and local reward terms.

These routes can overlap, but approval for one offer does not mean every reward applies. Temu’s influencer page and affiliate page are the starting points. Select your own region if the website asks.

How to apply through the official website

  1. Open the relevant official page and sign in or create your program account.
  2. Read the local eligibility and participation terms.
  3. Provide the requested channel links and accurate account details.
  4. Complete any review or account checks shown in the application.
  5. Once approved, get your tracking links, codes and campaign instructions from your own portal.

Do not copy somebody else’s referral code and expect it to track your work. A shopper’s discount code is also different from approval to take part as a creator or affiliate.

How commissions and referral rewards work

Temu describes several possible reward types, including commissions on qualified orders, eligible new-user referrals and selected campaign incentives. A click, app download or order does not automatically qualify for every reward.

  • Check who qualifies: an offer may apply only to eligible new users.
  • Check the action: a download, registration and completed order can have different rules.
  • Check the amount: an advertised “up to” rate is a maximum offer, not a promised rate on every sale.
  • Check the campaign period: old screenshots and last year’s offers may no longer apply.

For the basic difference between selling products and earning a referral commission, see our affiliate-marketing explanation.

What to check before counting a reward as income

Look at your portal’s current payout rules: which rewards are pending or approved, any minimum withdrawal amount, the available payment method, and the checks needed before payment. Product samples, promotional credit and withdrawable cash should not be treated as the same thing.

There is no reliable monthly-income figure that applies to every participant. Your audience, eligible actions, campaign terms and time spent creating content all matter. Our checklist before starting affiliate marketing helps you think through that work.

Before publishing your first recommendation

Read the product and campaign details, make paid collaborations or free samples clear to your audience, and use links in places where promotional posts are welcome. Test the link through the program’s own tools when available. If tracking or a reward looks wrong, ask program support with the campaign details instead of relying on an unrelated coupon page.
